Washington needs to build a covered if not entirely domed stadium when they replace the current Commanders stadium, and the ACCCG needs to be moved to DC. This attendance in Charlotte is horrible, and it's always been this way. Move the damn game inside to a city people want to travel to in December.

So even in their best year in 30 they still aren't the best team in their state with JMU going to the playoffs instead of them, and their conference where they got handed the most average team they could get.
This loss would be way worse than VT losing to FSU in 2005 ACC championship.
Edit: Came to fruition even with a Jim Phillips special, and their luck in OT finally ran out.

I'd bet a good amount of money that the Duke @ Michigan State basketball game is getting a very similar number of viewers to the UVA vs Duke ACC championship game.
Only way the football game would have more is because it's on ABC.

The knock on Franklin is that he doesn't win many ranked games.
Starting with the 2021 season, Franklin is 7-14 against ranked opponents, having beaten 7 different ranked schools, losing to 8. Of those 14 losses, 4 were to Ohio State, 3 were to Michigan, and 2 were to Oregon.
Campbell is 5-11 against ranked opponents during that same window, having beaten 3 different schools, also losing to 8. Three of the five wins were against Kansas State. He has lost to six teams, with Oklahoma and Texas beating him twice, each.
It appears, whereas Franklin couldn't beat Ohio State, Michigan, or Oregon, Campbell could only beat Kansas State.
Over the same time frame, Virginia Tech went 1-11 against ranked foes, only beating UNC, and losing to ten different ranked opponents, with the lone duplicate being Miami.

I genuinely hate what college football has become. The sec propaganda is unbearable (and also a little close to home).
I hate uva and I hate even more that they are in position to make it to the playoff before VT ever does. I'm rooting hard for Duke. The ACC is a complete and utter embarrassment. I really really need Franklin to come in and absolutely own the league in short order. I think with his pedigree if he comes in and wins right away VT might actually get goodish treatment for the cfp regardless of the ACC just because Franklin would give us some legitimacy.
