Solid Momentum for the ACC Network

SBJ reported DirectTV is the latest distributor to carry the ACC Network. The Pac-12 network which launched in August 2012 still doesn't have a deal with DirectTV.

ACC Net previously signed launch deals with Altice, Verizon and Hulu TV. ESPN will depend on Hulu's and DirecTV's national footprints as they negotiate with other distributors, including Comcast, Charter, Dish Network and AT&T U-Verse.

Also, the #WeDoThis campaign coincides with the ACC basketball tournament.

Hopefully it comes to YoutubeTV, as I have recently switched over to that.

Same. I'm hoping the $5 price increase when they added Turner was not just for Turner but for future expansion for this and some of the ex-Scripps networks but I'm still grandfathered into the $35 so if I have to go up to $40 I don't care haha.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Hope so too. I just sent feedback to YoutubeTV requesting ACC Network to be available when it launches in Fall 2019. You should do the same. More requests the merrier.

thanks, submission complete

Bump. I am loving YouTubeTV and with the ACCNetwork, my cable cutting would be complete.

Two problems with this
1. We're shaking keys then it sounds like they say Touchdown Tech, so we're distracting our own offense. What do they think we have LOLUVA level fan awareness?
2. Cuts at the end to a guy in a sweatshirt with the new academic logo 🤮🚮. That trash logo is leaking over into athletics and I want it to stop

I would rant on how its annoying they're trying to peddle the Academic logo on the Fanatics site (which is who hosts our official online store) but the VT site on Fanatics is so poor that the lack of design is what creates the most frustration.

Compare the main VT page on Fanatics - Link

To the main FSU page - Link

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Want me to stop by their offices next week and let them know?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

The only explanation is that our defense get's a pick six or scoop and score on third down, but I doubt they gave it that much thought.

"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence."

Either they didn't think of it or I didn't. Given the state of our D last year though, I would've just been happy with a third down stop haha.

Pick-6 on 3rd down. Duh

EDIT: I'll drink when I get home from work...

Or failed key shake and touchdown Ga Tech...

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence."

It seems FSU folk are rather peeved about their acknowledgment being relegated to sod.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

To be fair they seemingly get snubbed in a lot of ACC promotion. I think its hilarious

(add if applicable) /s

word is Willie Taggart requested this as part of the "lethal simplicity" ethos of their football program.

I would too. I thought it was us getting grass to throw into the lunch pail

Hulu picking it up is fantastic. They have a great sports line up as it is.

They'd better sign up SlingTV before opening day, or I'm not going to be happy.

Vue too. They have a bunch of ESPN placeholders, so hopefully itll be added there

Sling has about 37 Pac-12 networks, so you'd think they could squeeze in one for the ACC

click on the link on the ACCN tweet. Looks like Vue is already in.

Feels like this is going a lot faster than what happened with Big 10 and SEC networks. Most analysts thought the ACC would learn from some of issues those two ran into negoatiating their carrier deals, and it seems they did. Exciting stuff.

@hokie_rd

I assume this is just like the SEC network; if I have ESPN I have ACC?

Twitter me

Probably not that simple. But if you have SECN and live in ACC territory, I wouldn't worry about not getting ACCN.

The major difference though between the ACC Network and the PAC 12 Network is that ESPN owns the ACC Network while the PAC 12 owns its network outright, so the revenue goes directly to the member schools without a corporation taking a huge cut. Now that means there are risks ESPN takes on to ensure profitability that fall on the PAC 12 if their viewership falls off but they likely will benefit dramatically by owning it themselves with how sports are consumed in the US.

Hulu and Playstation Vue to carry ACC Network.

Cord Cutters have a good start. Hopefully they keep the ball rolling for YouTube TV.

I would have been shocked if Hulu didn't carry it at this point. Same parent company in control now.

If you're reading the above post and thinking, "is this guy serious?!?," you can safely assume I'm not.

Has anybody heard anything from Cox in regards to this?

I haven't seen any movement but I did tweet at them to let them know if they don't get it I'm leaving. Their response was that they sent my request to the programming team but nothing after that. I would suggest doing something similar to increase the number of people requesting it. Can't hurt.

I sent a note to Comcast/Xfinity

Our content and programming teams are in regular contact with ESPN (one of the owners and the distribution arm for this network) on many topics, including this network. The Comcast programming teams and our local management teams constantly evaluate programming choices and make decisions based on customer interests, costs, channel bandwidth management and contractual obligations.
As with any network contract, we want to come to an agreement that offers the best terms for our customers and our company that keeps both our costs and our customer's monthly costs to a minimum. Situations may change based on customer demand, channel bandwidth opportunities, business opportunities, costs and contractual obligations. Thanks for your feedback, your passion and your patience. It has been shared with the right teams. If/when a decision and contract is announced, we will be sure and make that information widely known in many places. Other providers may have announced that they have a contract to start offering this programming once the channel launches (August 22, 2019). Our teams continue to negotiate.
