Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
I think this was one still up in the air. Bitter just confirmed that Jenkins does plan to use his covid year and return in 2024 not bad for depth at LB.

Lord Emperor Saban has apparently decided to ascend, leaving an opening at Bama and I expect a slight ripple effect for schools/coaches depending on who is hired. Plus, I still feel like Harbaugh is going to the NFL to leave Michigan with a yet undisclosed mess of his to clean up.
The previous thread was becoming unwieldy, so here's a new one, now with tables!

Looking ahead, I've seen a lot of people talking about the ACCCG and potentially a dark horse for the playoffs. I would expect any chance of winning the championship game and playoff potential depends on who we would face. Looking at the top teams this year, the potential teams would be FSU, Louisville, and NC State. Given what we bring back and what we picked up in the portal, I think we could take State next year.

There is a lot of pundit chatter regarding the Hokies passing defense, which was ranked first in the ACC only allowing 168 yards per game. Strong and Delane had excellent seasons in coverage.
But the stat is a bit of a misnomer. The Hokies schedule was loaded with teams that struggled all season to throw the football. The best passing team the Hokies faced was Florida State (45th in the country out of 130 teams after the late season drop off thanks to the loss of Jordan Travis), who got pretty much whatever they wanted with the passing game before turning to the run game to close the Hokies out. Virginia Tech's best defensive game against the pass was against UVA (ranked 46th), where the pass rush forced a lot of bad throws.

Excellent news to start the new year. Gallo was granted a medical hardship waiver and is coming back for next season.

I know Joe said he'd be MIA post bowl game so I'm putting this out as a TKP call to arms. Please post GIFtory requests (description, game time, as normal). Those of you who can do so, make GIFs from game tape and post in response to requests. If this thread gets too unwieldy, we can make another post with just the GIFs as the body to simplify things.
Make me proud, TKP...

The Military Bowl presented a great opportunity for the Hokies to set the path forward for 2024. Retaining most of the team, including a number of prospective transfers, the Hokies delivered a resounding victory over a Tulane team that had built one of the most physical and successful g5 programs. Don't let the narrative of Tulane being depleted fool you. While quarterback Michael Pratt didn't play, several of the key pieces for Tulane's stout defense (Deveon Deal, Tyler Grubbs in particular) who were in the portal played.

For as much success and development we've had this year, can we please recognize how consistent John Love was this year? 20-22 on FG and 39/39 on PAT. I feel like the last decade I was never very confident on us kicking a field goal, but this year it wasn't much of a worry. Even today, in horrible weather conditions, he nailed his chances. He's going to be another key piece for success next year.

So was looking for the in game thread to ask this but since it's not up yet thought I would just make a post.
I'm in town with my family and am looking for a good place to watch the game and get food. It's been a hot minute since I've been to Blacksburg.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a recommendation for where to park for the Military Bowl at Memorial Stadium? Parking is currently sold out, and I likely won't be able to get there till just before kickoff. Their website provides some options but I am not sure which ones would be most convenient/available by the time I will get there.
Looking forward to the game, and Let's Go Hokies.

Don't think I'd seen on and thought we'd want a place to discuss any games of note.
For instance, I just noticed South Florida is kicking the snot out of Syracuse 31-0 at the half in the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl (apparently that's a serious name). Anyway, gotta love seeing that, and if Syracuse got a good recruiter, they sure as hell need it.
