I've been going through all the writers that I trust for the layout of what went wrong at VT and what the new market and search will look like over the past few days like many folks I suspect. Steven Godfrey mentioned something that made me think about the fumbling replacement coordinator and S&C search that was conducted over the off-season: Agents reported to him that there were multiple coaches that were contacted who didn't want to uproot and move to Blacksburg for just a year. That's why the Siefkies hire came weeks after Marve was let go. Some posters suspected we were taking swings at Knowles before Penn State landed him even then. The market knew that we were likely going to face a complete rebuild after 2024.

Basically, the entire roster is now eligible to transfer out for the next 30 days starting on Monday. If they do it this week, they are eligible to redshirt this season at their new school.

Genuinely, this is the worst football program in the country right now. We are going to get boat raced by almost everyone on the schedule, and that's assuming we can put up a fight against Wofford, and that's really not a sure thing at this point. And did I come up with that headline?

My money is on the news breaking in under 18 hours

Down 21 to ODU and not a lack of urgency with this staff.

Bad coaching, bad playcalling, and no answers to how to respond to the other team on either side of the ball.

This bum needs to leave Lans Stadium unemployed.

The fanbase doesn't deserve this.

Highlights:

Shows how checked out people are when we don't have this up the day before a game.

Watching Wake and NC State tonight waiting for Commanders game to start. They are doing the whole review again on TV tonight which is good.

Interested to see how Georgia Tech and Clemson turns out.

Can Wisconsin send Alabama to 1-2?

I don't know why I made this. I needed an outlet for the feelings I have around the program right now, as I, like many of you, feel that Virginia Tech Football is in the midst of a dark night of the soul right now.

By now, there has been a lot of discussion on the topic of athletic funding, how far behind we are, what is needed to close the gap, and that discussion can be found in several threads recently.

Less than a month back Whit sat in a conference room with the Board of Visitors and delivered one message: If Virginia Tech does not radically leap forward now, our fate is likely sealed for generations to come. If what we needed then was a giant leap forward, what we have seen in the weeks that followed was that our standing in reality was actually much worse than we thought at that time.
