Hokies and Gamecocks in Top 2 for 2016 OL Pete Leota

According to PalmettoSports.com (http://www.goupstate.com/article/20150824/PSPORTS02/150829809), 2016 OL Pete Leota's recruitment will come down to Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

OL Pete Leota of Asheville has narrowed his decision to USC and Virginia Tech eliminating North Carolina from the equation. His plan now is to visit Virginia Tech for the Ohio State game and USC for the Kentucky game.

Soon after that trip to Columbia he plans to make his decision. At this point, USC remains the leader as has been the case since he attended the Showcase Camp in July.

Interesting Look at Players Leaving the State

There was an interesting article in the Virginian Pilot today about how many of the football players from here in the 757 are heading to colleges outside of the state. There were some interesting quotes that gave some insight into the mindset of players:

"There's nothing wrong with Virginia Tech but I didn't want to stay home," said Yulee, ranked the No. 3 prospect in the state by ESPN and No. 5 by Rivals. "I wanted to go somewhere far away ... I just wanted to get away."

2016 DT Kyree Campbell commits to UNC

So, I wasn't even aware of this guy until I saw it on the ticker on ESPN yesterday. A 3* by scout, 247 and 4* by ESPN (I believe) committed to UNC over Alabama, Auburn and us. I don't know if he cut us out early or what. But my bigger question is to why we seem to be locked out of Woodbridge HS. That may just be me, but Campbell and Hand come to mind. I don't know who we have recently from Woodbridge. Obviously Alex probably has more information on this than I do but I was wondering the community's thoughts on it, plus I didn't see anything like how we looked towards, Patterson, Ellis, etc.

Trevon Diggs Commits to Alabama

Edit: He edited the post/picture to say it was NOT a commitment. Odd picture to put up regardless.

According to his Facebook page, it looks as if Trevon Diggs has committed to Bama. If so, that's quite the hit to the DMVtoMD movement and potentially helps us with Tino Ellis.

Virginia Tech Among 2015 TE Jovani Haskins' Top Five

Jovani Haskins divulged his top 5 to NJ.com on Thursday (http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/index.ssf/2015/07/bergenfield_tight_en...).

"I definitely narrowed it down to a few schools," said Haskins. "I've got Miami up there, Rutgers up there, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and I've got North Carolina."

"A prostyle offense, I like that," said Haskins, who prefers to play flex tight end in college. "I feel like it'll help me develop for my goals at the next level. But I feel I can adapt to any offense."

Short update from ESPN on 2016 OT Landon Dickerson

ESPN staff writer Tom VanHaaren caught up with North Carolina 4-star offensive tackle Landon Dickerson (http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/on-the-trail/insider/post?...).
