Demetri Moore @dakingmetri, a 6'6 285 pound offensive tackle from Mississippi Delta Community College has received an offer from Virginia Tech according to the following tweet. (Note, Moore retweeted the tweet.)

With the uva regime out, it will interesting to see what happens with this 7-on-7 club. I was happy that Tech steered clear of what appears to be a organization run by sketchy guys. However they will need to latch on to someone / somewhere to continue their success and it is a fresh slate in the state of VA. Not sure of Fuente's thoughts on these new AAU-type of organizations.
I also have similar thoughts related to some of the more tenured HS coaches in VA that have historically been more active in steering their players - thinking Hampton, Oscar Smith, etc.
Page for 2016 class that Fuente is starting to make moves. Think we should just add the new offers and any pertinent information on the student athlete here.
Seems like VT could be seeing more kids from Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas. Mississippi and Missouri on the offer list. Incoming coaches seem to have some good connections there from their time at Memphis
2016 DB Myles Wolfolk flipped his commitment from Virginia Tech to North Carolina per Ryan Bartow of 247Sports. Wolfolk gave his verbal pledge to the Hokies last December, but recently had been mulling his decision.
so I know it was hotly debated in other threads whether or not he is a good recruiter. But he is a hot coach right now and strong on Offense. We keep Bud, so we have that going on defense.
Many speculated that this recruiting class could go down and get ugly, but I would think Fuente coming in a and Bud sticking around keeps us where we are or possibly better.
Thoughts on existing recruits staying?
Thoughts on whether or not we pick up some uncommitted or others that may have been out of our reach previously?
I know it's early, but I think his name and Bud being released have to help out.
I was Just glancing at the state recruit rankings for this upcoming group of seniors, and I can't help but notice....not a single VT commit in the top 15. Not only that, but most if not all are leaving the state. How do we get back to signing the top ten talent in the state? I hope that is a focus for the next VT coach. Ahem to the next coach, we were winning >9 games/ year when we were winning the state.
There have been a lot of comments made about how Foster is a weaker HC candidate b/c of his recruiting, but what is the evidence of Fuente's, Morris', Rich Rod's, Herman's, and Fedora's recruiting performance?
Questions:
Which blue chip recruits are they responsible for?
Which diamonds in the rough are they responsible for?
What was their role in the overall recruiting strategy of the team?
How have their personal recruits panned out?
Last minute flips (either way)?
Before we as fans start writing off our beloved DC b/c of his "ability to recruit", lets give the other candidates an equal level of scrutiny.
247 has announced that Troy Pride, 4* CB, has de-committed. He's the 2nd de-commitment this week for the Hokies. This is to be expected and probably won't be the last one. Expect a lot of change in our current class over the next 3 months.

Ross Martin of CarolinaBlue.com reported Hokies' verbal commitment and Winston Salem, NC (Mount Tabor) product Divine Deablo will take an official visit to North Carolina this weekend. The Tar Heels host Miami on Saturday. Deablo committed to the Hokies over the Tar Heels on July 27th.
Expect the Hokies to have to re-recruit some of the 2016 verbal commitments.

Apple released iOS 9.1 for iPhone and iPad on Wednesday and it has new emoji which includes a turkey. Now recruits can use the turkey emoji to denote Virginia Tech. Here's an article listing all the new emoji:

Not sure how this one happened, but I'll take it. Nice offer list. Haven't watched his film yet.
A few quick visitor updates for you all ahead of the Pitt weekend.
Even with the torrential rain expected in Blacksburg, there are still a few recruits I've spoken with that say they'll be attending this weekend's game.
2016 DT Nick Coe will visit unofficially before taking an official next year:

The Hokies offered Hewitt a scholarship in June, 10 days after he committed to Rutgers. Evan Watkins of 247Sports reported Hewitt will make an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech for its game against NC State.

I know the stars dont mean everything but looking at VTs 2016 commitment list is very concerning so far. I know we arent going to Pull many 5*s but we normally land some quality 4*s. Right now we have 0 4*s. Thats worrisome especially with the lack of depth at some positions. AM54 goes down and all we have is a walkon to replace yikes. Am i overreacting? just concerned......
The Gamecocks got the better of the Hokies with 2016 Asheville, North Carolina OL Pete Leota.

Malcolm Askew, a 4* 2017 FS/QB from Alabama has a massive offer list, but tweeted a few days ago that he still wants a few more offers, including from Virginia Tech:

Sure wouldn't mind adding a top 150 recruit into next years class.
Does anyone have any information as far as how the recruits liked their visit? No denying that the first half of the OSU game was the loudest Lane Stadium has ever been in recent years but it fell pretty silent in the second half once Brewer went down and the offense came to a halt.
Laborn visited Virginia Tech over the summer (http://www.thekeyplay.com/virginia-tech-football-recruiting/2015/07/9746...), and according to Scout (http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1580542-scout-100...) his top 5 schools are Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
Virginia Tech: "It's close to home and I like the coaching staff. They're cool and get along well with the players."
