My ode to Grimes (set to Lady Stardust, by David Bowie):

Fans all stared
at defenders in Logans face
Laughed at Newsomes fail,
he was a disgrace.

The man with the sweet goatee
Came to coach this place,
And coach Grimey told us all
About how the lined be really great.

And it was alright, the line was coming together!
Yes, it was alright, the backs would run forever!
And it was awful cool,
To think that our line might rule!
And we would win all season long.

Cajun boys emerged from shadows
To watch this coaching man.
Les offered more
Than we could ever match.
I smiled sadly, for a coach we could not keep.
And coach Grimey left,
And the Hokies all then did weep.

And it was alright, the line was coming together!
Yes, it was alright, the backs would run forever!
And it was awful cool,
It was really too good to be true!
And we would win all season long.

Oh, how we sighed
When the cajuns asked about our o-line

And it was alright, the line was coming together!
Yes, it was alright, the backs would run forever!
And it was awful cool,
To think that our line might rule!
And we would win all season long.

Just wanted to throw this out there as it seems relevant - Jeremy Pruitt, DC at FSU who made $500,000 last year and expected to see a significant raise has been hired at UGA for $850,000 annually. This problem is only going to get worse. If we get a coach we like, we probably shouldn't expect him to hang around too long, unless the market levels off tremendously.

Don't think your re-alignment would go over well in NC St. Why not trade NCSt for Wake? I'm sure Wake would rather be in FSU's division (got a recent history of success there), and NCSt would not be happy to be separated from UNC

I think there are easier remedies to that without abandoning division winners - that cure is just all kinds of messy and is probably worse than the disease

But the rematches in those cases are palatable, because we had proven ourselves to be the best team in the Coastal. There was no-one else in our division who deserved it more. In the Bama-LSU rematch, there were several other teams on the outside looking in, that never had a chance (Ok St, for instance). What if that was in place this year? Does Clemson go over Duke? Even though Duke never got a chance to play either Clemson or FSU, and hadn't lost since the middle of September? How is that fair?

Ugh, I couldn't be more oppossed to this. Sorry Clemson, you had your shot at FSU - time for Duke to get a turn. I hate the idea that a team could get left out of the championship just so a higher-ranked team (that already had a shot at the champion, generally) gets another go. I feel like this will eventually lead to an LSU-Bama rematch type scenario.

Can I get a filter that screens out any comment that includes the words "Logan" and either "TE" or "tight-end"?

Huh. For what position?

Edit - nevermind, it's in the post. O-Line job. I guess that's a step up? I'd hate to lose him right now, especially with this class coming together so nicely...

Exactly - the problem isn't on Auburn for noticing and taking advantage of the organization's lack of encryption - it's on FSU for failing to protect their playcalls. Now if a school is doing something like sneaking in and stealing notes or something, then it's a different story - but this is totally different. Auburn had outdated FSU codes that were still being used.

Why didn't FSU, knowing the Auburn had an ex-qb on staff and had a month to prep, not change their signals? That's a major failure to protect "sensitive" information.

agreed 100% - this hire is an embarassment to Louisville, and I think really shows where the AD's priorities lie. I think in the long run, this sets Louisville back tremendously.

That's a little bit much, I think. Manziel was great against Duke, but lets keep in mind the relative scores of the Duke games when comparing FSU and T A&M - FSU did not HAVE to score 52 points to win, otherwise, I think they could have. That game was just over by halftime.

As for the Vick comparison... pump the brakes. Manziel is exciting and dynamic, but he's not really anything like Vick. His arm isn't as strong, and he's not nearly as much of a home-run threat. They're totally different players. A better comparison might be Archie Manning at Ole Miss.

It wouldn't shock if Manziel succeeds in the NFL, but it wouldn't shock me if he didn't either. I imagine we'll see what the NFL decision makers think of him in a few months, I guess, but I'd be surprised if he was in the upper half of the first round.

I really like where your heads at, but am far too lazy to actually do the leg work to support your hypothesis. Instead, I think I'll just claim it's true and that I "read it somewhere"

You can't just assume that they could replace him, though. Sure there's a chance they could, but there is also a legit chance the defense, which has been the only thing that's really been working here lately, takes a step back (commence implosion)

You could have just ended the title after the word "fan" - all the rest was redundant.

It's like "UVA Fan Embarrasses Self" <- everything after "fan" is implied.

Why is he unhappy? They gave him everything he wanted. He ran the entire show. Not GT's fault he drove them nowhere.

I could just watch this gif all day. It's fantastic. He's even better in high-speed gif than he is in normal speed.

GT fans prior to the season:
"Wait till Lee starts! Then you'll see a PJ offense with a qb who can REALLY throw!"

GT fans after the season:
"We still miss Josh Nesbit"
