In late elementary or middle school I remember using this term ironically with some classmates. It did not occur to me until much later that some of them were hearing it unironically at home. Or that they might be using it that way themselves.
I was very shocked when I was corrected when something about the civil war was mentioned and somebody corrected me to say you mean the "Great War of Northern Aggression."
Well VT had just embarrassed him in a national game. He couldn't show his face again.

I don't know that it is all the assistant coach's fault. The head coach was at press conferences saying the girls quit because that's what they do.
True Story: As a graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools, I was shocked to discover upon my arrival at VT in Fall 1982 that I had been improperly taught about the kerfuffle in the early 1860's. My first VT roommate, a native of Marion, VA, corrected my educational shortfall by informing me that the "War of Northern Aggression" was still considered a sore spot in the minds of true southerners. We agreed to disagree and became friends despite our conflicting historical perspectives. If you're still out there Clayton, I would love to catch up.

A storied power conference team that is in close geographic proximity to us is gonna run off a good head coach because their fan base is too dense to understand that it was the assistant coach's causing problems?
It sucks for that coach, have <0 sympathy for the fanbase.

They're consistently expanding into college towns/areas due to popularity after replacing Gumby's in Blacksburg.

Yeah, her teams at Marshall were fun to watch. Can't say that I went back and watched any of the Glenville St tape, but didn't she win a D3 championship or something there?

He is saying that it is unclear he was directly involved in building the org of octo and that selling a company doesn't necessarily track to a complimentary skill set to helping VTs future. further I think his point is not directly about Sanghani and about ppl that build and sell companies in general.
