Watch out, ACC. These guys came to play this year.

The whole attitude thing.

A leg for blackout.

And Wake beat Duke and is 4-0, which means Wake should probably be a top-10 team and lock for the playoff.

I don't think anyone can deny that Seth Greenberg was fired in a pretty classless manner contrary to what we should expect from our school. Yes, he's going to bitter (and I'd say he landed on his feet), but I expected better from VT (and I think now we have the right leadership moving forward).

Orgeron is going to be a great head coach.

I'll bite. Orgeron was already a head coach and he went 10-25 at Ole Miss. Granted that was a decade ago and he did better as interim coach with USC but I think there is reason for skepticism. Why is he going to be great now?

FSU (Bowden years), UNC (Butch Davis years), and Louisville (Bobby Petrino round 2) joined the SEC?

It seems obvious now that they aren't going to do anything about the paper airplanes

I heard the wildlife sciences department was working on a solution.

But Evans is playing against one of the better G5 teams, while Cam was playing against an LSU team that finished the season 11-2, #8 in the country, with a top 5 defense.

I refuse to even buy a ticket for this hype train until we beat UNC... Then I'll think about.

From before and after the honey badger, LSU has a long history of sketchy problems with players. What are sketchy problems with a coach.

And like Petrino, he wins.

Not to pile on but Eastern Washington is FCS.

If VT wins a national championship or was part of the SEC, then there would be no reason to worry.

I don't think Fuente has any intention of leaving anytime soon. He might get the itch if he wins a title.

Yeah so... something isn't adding up for me in this argument.

I think people grossly overestimate the number of head coaches of P5 teams that change schools. Sure it does happen but if you look into it, it mostly has to do with the coach's personality, where they are from/family situation, and the work environment at the school. The list that have left a comparable/P5 school to join a P5 school is: Bronco Mendenhall, Charlie Strong, Mike Riley, James Franklin, Paul Chryst, Todd Graham, Gary Anderson, and Bret Bielema. Out of those cases, almost all of them were related to the coach not feeling like they had the support of the administration or needing a different environment. There is nothing to indicate those factors would be in play with Fuente. To further illustrate why a coach would not always jump for the big name job, the two who did (Strong and Franklin) are both on the hot seat.

I saw like three paper airplanes Saturday. Was it immature and trashy? Yes. Did it ruin the game experience for me? Nah. It seems obvious now that they aren't going to do anything about the paper airplanes, so I don't worry about it. Like you said, there's a game going on that deserves my full attention. Don't let them bug you so much. Hokie home games only come six times a year.

The wave is for baseball or some other slow sport or at high school games.

Football is a slow sport. I love it, but it takes like 3.5 hours to play an hour long game (by the game clock) and a lot of that hour is standing around while the clock churns.

Students are gonna get a little bored and restless. The other side of the coin when you actually get them to stay in their seats past the homecoming 'festivities' is that they're gonna find other ways to entertain themselves during a blowout. I dislike the wave when they try to do it during a close game, especially when we're on offense... but those conditions did not apply Saturday so it's not a big deal.

Paper airplanes can go the way of Stick it In, it's only fair.

My pre-season expectation was 8 wins. I stand by that. We're about to enter a very tough stretch of schedule with consecutive road games followed by a short week and a game against a traditional conference foe who is also playing well at the moment. Then we have to turn around again to play on the road at night against a team which has been a proverbial thorn in our side for decades. At a venue we always seem to struggle playing in. As much as I want to believe this team is invincible with the way they are playing I just can't. I'm expecting the rest of the ACC to catch on and start building schemes to slow our offense down.

Here's a little something else to chew on. We have scored quickly and early in our last 3 games to take 2 score leads before the end of the first quarter. This team hasn't really had to play from behind since Bristol (and we all know how that turned out)....I worry how this team will respond when they don't score first.

WHY would Fuente be hired by LSU? He has 4 games of P5 HC experience, and 0 marquee wins.

Yes but it's not like it's Morgantown or anything.

Michigan State also had 15 players drafted and/or signing free agent deals after last year. That's a lot of attrition. No one in the Big Ten was expecting them to compete for the division this year. They were a lot like Wake was when they won the ACC - lots of seniors who had been doing it for many years. They've come back down to earth this year
