Positive: Jerod Evans. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a QB who can make plays at ease without forcing it or making terrible decisions throwing the ball. I was very impressed with #4 last night. Dobbs might have gotten the postgame TV interview, but everyone who watched that game knows who the best QB on the field was.
Negative: What the hell is up with Wyatt Teller? Terrible leadership from an upperclassmen by drawing two chop blocks and a personal foul. That has to be fixed because like all of you, I believe he is hands down our best OL but he can't be on the field performing like that. Don't blame Fuente at all for throwing him in the doghouse.
Me too. Now the two of us can add our eraser crumbs to the ground up football cleats they made the Bristol field from and move on.
Most of the replays they had ran into the next play because of up tempo.
The reverse angles on replays was messing with me, because they would split screen with the ref, who then looked like he was pointing the wrong way.
this team was constantly able to love the ball.

Second, I like the punching ourselves in the eye better than shooting ourselves in the foot now that I have seen this GIF.
To be fair, it's hard to let a deep route develop when the Oline is getting beat like a red-headed step child.

I gave you a leg, but I thought for a few moments and will respectfully disagree with your statement that "we were the better team". In reflection, I don't think we were. Now I do believe we could have won that game, but not only did we not win, but we fell apart not winning it. That is clearly not the mark of a better team. It always pisses me off when fans of a team we beat tell me that we didn't win, they lost it, or gave it away or whatever. If you win by more than a fluke or something, you are the better team, at least in that game. They whupped us, we helped them, for sure, but they whupped us.
I'll be at the BC game next week to witness the start of our coastal campaign. Let's just make sure we hold onto the ball with both hands, hunched over, and our arms covered in stickum.

# | Ask TKP: What's your one positive and negative takeaway from Battle at Bristol? Pro: I'm surprised how excited/optimistic I am today after last night. Also, Kyle Fuller is Mook Reynold's spirit animal.
Con: the last 3 quarters of last night happened and it made me sad.
Ford put future NFL DB Cam Sutton on skates and Evans underthrew a sure TD. Idk why we got away from trying that, our pass pro was shit for much of the game so that's probably why. But we have deep threats, we just have to pass pro long enough to utilize those plays, which was an Achilles heel last year.

# | Ask TKP: What's your one positive and negative takeaway from Battle at Bristol? Positive: offense and defense look to be improved. With fewer mistakes, we can win some games this year.
Negative: 5 fumbles and too many penalties. These are correctable to a degree, fumbles happen but shouldn't happen at that frequency. Penalties will happen but can also be reduced.
Its not so bad for me being in Alabama. They tend to focus on each other so muchuch that about all they say is that Tech is a decent team. Plus I can't wait till Bama plays TN and wipes the floor with them.

The negative is just getting our players to simmer down and secure the ball. That's really my only concern that's not excusable based on how new Fuente's system is.
So long as Ford puts defenders on their butts with double moves, yes, we have a deep threat. Im interested to see if Murphy can bust a deep one. It's on Evans to put the ball where it needs to be. Hit Ford in stride, and he's gonna walk in for a bunch of TDs.

Agreed. My take on the WR Corp at this point is that we saw another game wher the OC and/or WR coach chose to stick almost entirely with Ford/Phillips/Hodges. That's three years in a row coaches have wanted to work in other WRs and failed to do so when their bacon was on the line.
To me, that's a reflection on just how good these three are. It's tough to take them out of the game.
Do we need a deep threat? No, we have three very good to great WRs. We need to get the most out of them.
pro: i really like the blueprint.
con: lack of focus on the field. emotion is such a huge component of college football, but those who can feed on the emotion without losing focus on the basics usually prevail.
