San Diego claims they never do this, and I think there were other players drafted early in the first that signed without either of these. I usually think players get short shrift when it comes to contracts in the NFL, but I also think if you're a rookie, sign the deal and get into camp.
You can't look at previous years. Look at what players around him drafted got this year.

I don't think it's that at all, I think it's that he wants San Diego to make one of two concessions that the number 3 pick has received since the new CBA took place. San Diego is unwilling to make them because they've never had to before, but they also haven't picked number 3 since the new CBA took place.
I don't think what Bosa is doing is the best idea (he has zero leverage and at this point will only lose money), but I wouldn't say he's an idiot or a primadonna.
