According to the article by Jamie Uyeyama that does the "Sonofacoach Breakdown" pieces for 247, he is of the opinion that "(What) does (Smith do at) an elite level? It's run blocking. He really does a great job not only fitting his block but finishing. So many tight ends are averse to blocking, but not Smith. I would put him in the top five in this class as a blocker from the position and he can really do it all in that area." He is referring to the 2017 national class of TE's.
My wife is a huge disneyphile. She grew up on Disney World. We live in SoCal now, and been to Disneyland a plenty. We've gone back to Disney World, came to the conclusion that Disneyland is hundreds times better.
I went to Europe last month and met fellow Hokies in all 4 countries that I traveled through. I probably met/saw a total of 15-20 Hokies. I swear we VT grads wear our school gear more than most other schools. My sister (an NC State student) who went on the trip only spotted 2 people in NC State gear.
All the better when we upset Tenn.
Bring it on. Seriously, let's get back to the blue collar attitude that VT is known for. I don't care WHY ESPN is interested in this game, let's make it about us dammit.
The pity party right now is embarassing. Plus the constant SEC inferiority complex is embarrassing too...let's just enjoy the exposure and stop being so negative.

Laid over in Doha back in 2007. I was with my mom travelling back from Goa, India. A ton of Hokies. There was way more orange and maroon than I could have imagined. Our flight alone had at least 20 Hokies. This was a week after the Jayhawk Orange Bowl debacle.
My thoughts exactly. We throw shade on LOLUVa in football like it's a right. We have struggled to beat them four years in a row now. We are literally in uncharted territory as far as VA recruiting goes. We both have coaches with solid records yet largely unproven on the big stage leading the programs. Albeit, Fuente has a lot more upside, but Bronco's record doesn't reflect any slouch.
Personally, however, I think Bronco is a joke hire for UVa and indicates a program that has no intentions whatsover of being competitive. You might as well have dropped him in out of a spaceship from Mars - this is the first time he has lived/really recruited east of the Mississippi. The "coaching at the Notre Dame of Mormonism" angle is gone. I'm skeptical, but there is unknown on both sides.
Regardless, I'm not going to start giving UVA's recruiting class flak unless we start reeling in 4 and 5 stars regularly. Both programs have coaches who trust their evaluation and system more than anything else. So I'm not going to talk much this offseason.
We desperately need AM to progress. I am ultimately a little indifferent about the Lydon news. On one hand, he had tremendous potential and was viewed as someone who could beat out AM (who has had his share of struggles) for the job this spring. On the other hand, he only played a few snaps last year. He was obviously unable to make any moves on the depth chart this spring, so I don't quite understand the heartache. If he was better, he would have won the job. Maybe Bud is lost in his pride with the AM project, or maybe he just didn't trust Lydon more than AM and/or Huelskamp. I'm a bit hesitant to say that Bud is off his rocker and let a better player get away if he was still clearly 3rd on the depth chart. I still trust in Bud, afterall, he's forgotten more about football than I will ever know.
I did the college program between undergrad and grad school and it was the most fun 4 months of my life. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is 21 and single

The wife and I ran into some Hokies at Hermits Rest on the south rim of the Grand Canyon.
Last week, I was at Georgia Tech for a class and got a "Go Hokies!" walking down the street in Midtown.

Also, for night parades buy the lights and stuff ahead of time. Great cost savings and when the kiddos ask to buy them you pull those babies out and you saved the world!
Christmas decorations are fantastic and the parade is great, but the firework show is quite simply the best I've ever seen. We always go the week before Thanksgiving. The lines are short, decorations are up, A very Mickey Christmas is in full swing and for military you can get tickets regardless of whether that is sold old out to the general public. Additionally, if you can swing a reservation to the California Grill (Do it, it's AMAZING!) for around 2100 or 2200 you get to see the fireworks from up high... and it's fantastic! November is a great time for Disney!
For another cost saving measure, there is a facebook group dedicated to planning for Disney trips where families all throw in on a Photo pass. Rather than spending $100+ to get unlimited pictures it ends up being like $5 per family. You have to sift through their pictures, but at that savings I am happy to do so.
After reading this thread, I sense some tightness... maybe some pacing going on out there...

My favorite was someone posted a Flood Warning for the west of England because all of Wales are pissing themselves laughing. And there's a video of the entire Welsh team going mental celebrating when the final whistle went on the Iceland-England match.

Forgot to add this. If you taking a stroller clip one or two of these onto it for the young ones to stay cool. Also BRING YOUR OWN MISTER FAN!!! The ones sold at the park are 19.99 while we bought some on Amazon for 5 dollars.
During the summer before my freshman year, I went to the Dominican Republic with my family. While I was there, I noticed a guy wearing one of those stupid "What's a Hokie? I AM!" t-shirts. Of course I went up to him and introduced myself; turns out he was a rising freshman just like me. Naturally, we hung out and partied together for the remainder of the week. Flash forward a month - I'm taking a lap around the second floor of Pritchard after moving in and who do I bump into? The same guy. Who was also living on my floor. Pretty ridiculous coincidence. We didn't end up being good friends or anything, but we would always shoot the shit whenever we bumped into each other downtown.
Disney World is pretty cool. My wife and I are aiming to go back before we have kids haha. Also, if you want to save and still get an awesome experience that all ages will love go to the Hershey area. Hersheypark is probably my favorite theme park, ahead of Dollywood and Disney World. Tons of roller coasters, awesome family stuff, and of course everything is Hershey themed.
No matter what sporting event I attend it seems I run into at least one Hokie.
I would also like to say thank you to all the Hokies who have approached my parents or yelled Go Hokies when seeing my parents in Hokie gear. Even though my parents never attended, those people told them they were in the Hokie Family since I attended. My parents love it!
Find someone who works for Moments of Magic travel and have them plan your trip. They get paid by Disney and ours did a fantastic job. Also plan more than 6 mos in advance as the character meals book up that far out. If you need a name of someone that works for them, let me know.
