Used to be called the "Nightmare on Washington Street". I'm looking forward to earning that nickname back over the next couple years.

Supporting ACC teams to advance in the tourney is good for the VT athletic dept pocketbook. Each game played by an ACC school is worth over 200,000 dollars at least.

Epperly gets embarassed by unranked wrestler from Penn. His inability to escape before giving up riding time cost him the match. Official allowed the opponent to stall out the entire third period.

Cassell is a SCARY place to play. I mean SCARY. It's loud, it's dark, and it's close.

No joke: Back in the late 70s and early 80s, Cassell was rated as one of the toughest places to play as a visiting team in the nation. We need to get back to that...For. Every. Home. Game.

I think that's an unfair characterization of Greenberg's time at VT.

I had student season tickets in 06-07 (when we actually made the tournament), and the games were always loud and stands were mostly full. The next year, I didn't even end up getting tickets because the demand was so high.

People remember Greenberg for whining every year about missing the tourney, but it's not like support for the team was lacking then. They could certainly be frustrating to watch under Greenberg, but it didn't have an effect on attendance.

So, I normally don't watch squeakyhoops, but I do like to watch Hokie teams in the post-season, so I turned the game on last night. At halftime, I guess, they were showing clips from another game, and it was waaaaaaaaaay more squeaky than our game. Is Cassell a less squeaky court than other courts? Because it was pretty unbearable when they were showing clips from the other game, but I could deal with ours...

It's completely understandable. I just try to support the ACC teams that aren't UVA. Outside of that, I almost always root for the underdog and complete chaos in the tournament. It's a similar reason to why I don't make brackets anymore, it's fun to root for the underdog instead of worrying about if this game will make your bracket as accurate as possible.
