Princeton and Yale were near-equals. Yale barely edged Princeton to get into the NCAAs. Essentially, VT just upset Baylor. . .

Team chaos gets its first win. Down goes Baylor!
Also, keep an eye on Little Rock, they're giving Purdue a challenge.
He is number 1 or number 2. He will not drop lower than that.
Well neither do UGA or USCe and we're more of a hoops school than those 2 put together.
April 23 is coming.......
Upset alert 12 seed Yale is up by 4 with 1:21 left.
Perhaps it is just because I'm wired a similar way, but despite all I read and learned about Buzz early on, his analytical approach to everything continued to impress me. Reminds me a lot of Moneyball.
Because I don't see VT selling out a 12-13,000 seat arena on a regular basis.
Why not both?
Id rather see Cassell be updated than expanded.
USCE averaged 11,500 fans in 2014-2015 and UGA averaged 7,500 while VT had 5,700.

Because I think our future is going to be quite a bit better than 'perpetually coming off back-to-back-to-back-to-back last place ACC finishes'. By the time we're in year 10 of Whit's tenure, I have a feeling we could be packing in Cassell more times than not.
Because it is disgraceful that uga and usce have larger arenas than us.
Yeah, you'd think we'd be talking all about Fuente's plan, but instead we're talking about Buzz's 3rd year plan. I hope we beat BYU and make a run at NIT championship, but I'm ready for some football, too.
[sighs] You know what-ok. Fine. Alright, you're up, Butler.
Expand? Are we talking about Cassell??? Why would you want to expand a place that doesn't sell out now?
I'm guessing they call it a Turkey, similar to a Turkey in bowling. I think it means three stops in a row. I know they call scoring three offensive possessions in a row a "heat". I didn't catch the potential Hokie reference with "turkey". Leg for you.
Not to mention the whole first time we've had a new head coach leading spring practice in 3 decades thing... Yeah, pretty crazy we're still this focused on basketball. Speaks volumes to what Buzz is doing.
Man is it weird to be talking basketball this time of year. Usually this site is full of Hokies that can't get their mind off of Spring Football. The excitement of VT postseason basketball certainly helps the off-season be more palatable.
Its bad that the practice facility fits so much better with campus than the actual arena. Also looks far nicer as well.
That.... shouldn't be the case.
The generational difference in attitudes on unification is supported by research. Millenial South Koreans are less likely to respond that reunification is a major concern to them, and they consider North Koreans to be a significantly different people than their fellow South Koreans. Not necessarily that the younger generation doesn't care at all about reunification, but not nearly so much as their parents.
This wasn't the source article I originally read on this topic (no clue what my original source was; found it on reddit and didn't save it), but it's close enough that it might as well have been: Link
Cassell has a really cool, distinct look IMO, but the Washington St. facade is awful and doesn't fit in at all with the style of campus. I'd love to see a redesign of the front entrance with Hokie Stone. Give it some big wooden doors and maybe semi towers/turrets on the end, make Cassell look like a castle, and have the facade fit in with the architectural style of campus.
Hampton...

I mean it is fairly new, much newer than Cassell and had much more importance in being constructed than a facade update would. It's a '60s-ish modernist (or whatever ugly architectural fad it was) design that seemed "cool" at the time probably but looks like shit now. I think it'd be pretty easy to pretty up the front entrance/facade area, and it would be great to redesign the inside lobby too, because it can be hell in there when people are trying to get tickets and enter the game at the same time.
A good comparison would be Lane. It was updated in the early 2000s and looks absolutely beautiful with the Hokie Stone on the outside of West stands. I'm young, what did it look like before? I think that's a great model to work off of for Cassell.
