People in other threads were saying that it was Fuente's fault for not paying him more but to hear that VT offered him more to stay is nice to hear. Hope he does well and at least we won't be playing against him until Bowl season.
Now, I'm excited about the new hire.

All-American Pro Bowl CB Brandon Flowers was a 2 star, Kam Chancellor, etc. From what I have heard, Carter is a very powerful and instinctive linebacker but his downside is that he isn't particularly quick/fast, I can't confirm this because I haven't seen tape but I've seen some chatter. Luckily, at linebacker in any scheme, excellent instincts, reading keys, position, and a get after it attitude can make up for a lack of traditional speed/quickness.

I really am not sure what I believe for next season. I truly don't like being a person that believes that our class is going to rock or suck based on what a few websites tell me.
It's a safe statement, but I will wait for spring game before I start panicking (or get too excited, although I always do have cautious optimism before the season starts)

Doesn't sound like I was part of yours. I played a few times in old shitty gyms under Cassell with a mixture of Athletes from the school. Never played with TG or Midgett. But I do know MR and I probably know you as well. Graduated in '07 worked for the football team from 03 to 07

No. But it will narrow the pool of candidates to folks who pick up the nuance of the system quickly and can communicate it effectively. That takes out some of the folks like Beatty, who are excellent salesmen but can't coach their way out of a wet paper bag.
