The Canadiens top line is pretty stout IMO. Gallagher was injured for a while but is on a 60 point pace for this season, Pacioretty and Plekanec are both on 55ish point paces for this season. Galchenyuk and Weise are both pretty solid too. I guess what surprises me the most about them is that they have good posession numbers and are 3rd in the league in Corsi For, but just can't score. Their D has always been a little weak minus Subban though.
I definitely agree with the changing of the guard though. Taylor Hall is one of my favorite non-caps to watch along with Tarasenko, Karlsson, and Parayko. There is some serious talent in the younger ranks of the league right now.

Yea, you've got a point. I forgot that they hired a new HC - They seem to be back to normal for the most part, but for a while there it was a little iffy.
Fuente is getting a ton of credit for TCU's offense, but to be honest while he was there they were not the high flying offense they are now.

Imagine the wave of shock that went over me when I saw so many comments on this thread in a matter of hours. I believe we had received some good news, but instead it was just deception- a poster conning me into thinking we got a commitment.
FWIW a highly touted recruit from a few years back, who committed elsewhere, said that Stiney was awesome from a recruiting standpoint. A great guy that he absolutely loved, one of his favorites in the whole recruiting process.
Unfortunately for the good guys the kid felt that the other school was the better fit for him.

These dudes are on here just actively trying to be pessimists. Which is fine and dandy if that's what they want to do. However, I don't see a reason to not at least be somewhat optimistic about our future. Looks to me like we have a couple of contrarians who are proud to be just that. Which, like I said, is whatever and good for them.
Would've liked him to become head of recruiting. He has been our best recruiter the past 7-8 years. Consistently brought in 4-star talent, that have frequently performed at a 5 star level (David WIlson, Bucky),

Its idiotic to judge Fuente and Co based on this recruiting class. Almost all of our commits were carried over from Beamer and Co. There just isn't time for a head coach to take over in January and expect him to go out and recruit 4 and 5 stars by the next month... It takes time
