I thought it was extremely odd that he compared him to Bud Foster and then turned on his heels and said Bud Foster wasn't a good coach. As if somehow criticizing his own coach. Even though UT was holding Northwestern to 6 points at the time. Honestly, my friend is probably the biggest contrarian I've ever known. He just became a UT fan last year (he is 20 years old) for the sole reason that basically all of his friends either go to Virginia Tech or are Virginia Tech fans. So it's not all that surprising that he doesn't appreciate a guy who has had essentially nothing but success over the past 20+ years.
I don't know how reliable this guy is, but it doesn't look like we have much of a chance with him.

He seems to be more of a safety than corner based on his film. He plays a lot of zone and comes down to lay the lumber. The kid plays mean and definitely would embody the LPD with the way he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty
I really like his film. He runs crisp routes and is very good off the line of scrimmage. He seems to have pretty decent hands. I would say his only negative is that he doesn't have the greatest top end speed as he seems to get caught from behind quite often.

It won't happen until the summer and it isn't the whole stadium, but it is happening to certain sections. I think eventually all will be replaced and there is also the idea of putting suites were the current crows nest is, but not sure there is a date for that yet.

For this exercise, if a uniform was worn more than once, I am only counting the first time they wore it. For example, this year's military appreciation helmet only counts vs. Furman and not the other times they wore it this year, since that is the game it was debuted.
It was also a bit subjective since I did not include the retro helmet the team wore vs. UVA & Tulsa or the variations of striped/not striped helmets in the past.

The games we remember losing while wearing a special uniform were mostly against high caliber opponents, or at least teams that were equal to or better than us on paper. The only losses that seem to be terrible losses are UNC and ECU. And granted, a lot of the wins were against over-matched opponents (though I kinda' want to count the Hokie Tracks & Hokie Bird helmets as losses).
Anyway, I guess I have grown weary of hearing excuses about poor play based on uniforms or comments like "they should spend less time picking a wardrobe and more time on the practice field," as if they are not practicing as much as the NCAA currently allows.

Alex has been killing it lately and Whit deserves props for recognizing he deserves an exclusive like this. Amazing to see the updates across the board and I can't help but think both major programs and the entire Athletic Department are in the right hands.
Just when you think the adrenaline is starting to wear off......
My response would have been, "So you guys are proud of having a guy who you say is LIKE Bud Foster.... but we have the actual, REAL Bud Foster? You're welcome."

I would think it's case by case. Hopefully a recruit isn't surprised that it's cold in southwest Virginia in January but who knows. I wonder if the coaches try to out more emphasis on having the OVs during warmer periods of the season?

But who were the teams we were playing when we wore these uniforms? It's not like we break out the "cool" uniforms against FCS talent.

I actually live in southeast Michigan, and the weather is not that different from the 'Burg. 33 degress where I am at right now and 34 in the 'Burg.

The one negative thing that sticks out to me about Bucky is his toughness. LET ME EXPLAIN... I don't often see him fighting for the ball on a regular basis like top end TE's in the league, I don't see him running through our around corners and safeties on a regular basis like top end TE's in the league, he often gets tackled on first contact by much smaller players.
I'm not challenging Bucky's character in any way, my thing is that for a guy who is 6'7" and 240ish lbs, it seem like he should be making more happen with the ball in his hands.
I might not be seeing the situation (on the field) completely correctly, so take it as a simple observation from a guy who loves Bucky and hopes he makes the best move for his future.

Keep in mind the schedule that teams like Dematha run to stay in the top tier of programs in the country.
Dematha this year played two teams from Florida to start the year that were both top 15 schools, then a top Catholic school in Pennsylvania before getting into their WCAC schedule. I would expect a team run by Coach Scott to maybe take it a step farther, with close to half their games against other national powerhouses.
