I think Seth DOES have talent...at being a bit of a Taz. He has loads of energy and speed, but doesn't seem to quite know what to do with it all. He needs to find a different identity IMO.
What we are doing isn't working. Use today's starting five (Wilson, Hudson, Bibbs, LeDay, Blackshear) as the starters and define other roles as key subs. The personnel situation is out of control.
Was the substitution pattern today particularly chaotic and excessive? We seemed to sub every FT attempt and every other deadball. Nobody was playing well, but hard to get in a rhythm with 2 min runs at a time.

Really not the greatest year for the ACC. I hope next year sees us get back in the ballpark of what we expect to see out of our defense.
That's not exactly what I wanted to hear from Buzz considering he played three minutes and then was benched for the remainder. Pretty damming to sit arguably our most consistent post player even as a freshmen for 37 minutes especially after the rest of the bigs all got in foul trouble too. I mean Henry as much as this may have been his best game this season so far fouled out in sixteen minutes of play. The other bigs had just as many troubles. Who does #getbetter benefit the most to play in a game like this? Tonight was ugly all around though but to already have Clarke out 18% rebounding this year and then sit Blackshear 22% rebounding this year and you wonder why we got beat on the boards 42-24 today. Frustrating.

I watched this game and I watched the Ole Miss game (you tube replay) and it seems that Lefty wasn't far off with his comments. There were definitely some head scratcher play calls and our favorite of get lined up with 20 seconds on the play clock and then starte at the sidelines for 18 seconds. I they were more committed to the inside run game than our previous offense. Very excited to see what our current talent can do under JF leadership. Happy New Year's Eve Eve!
There are a couple Henry dunks in the second half worth seeing. Thats about all.
Hate to admit it, that was the first time I've seen that interview. I did chuckle though. Corey Moore needed Marshawn Lynch's publicist that day.

# | BUZZKETBALL CENTRAL: #19 WVU Mountaineers (10-1) at Virginia Tech Hokies (8-3) 12PM ESPNU Allen was already on the team last season, he was just redshirting. Same goes for LeDay. So the real question should be "Would you take Mueller / Smith over Outlaw, Blackshear, Hamilton or Robinson?"
Two of those guys are Forwards, which we need more of, not less. So let's keep them. Mueller/Smith vs Outlaw/Robinson
First, let's rule out Mueller. He had a minimal offensive game. Similar to Wilson in that regard but better shooter while not as good a ball handler. Unable to beat anyone off the dribble. Did play decent defense. Bottom line is that he was the guard picked to play PF, not one of the bigger/stronger guys.
That leaves Smith... at the expense of Outlaw, Blackshear, Hamilton or Robinson.
Outlaw isn't contributing because of a medical condition, and might never play for VT, so he's the easy one to single out in hindsight. But as a player on the court he's far more capable than Smith ever will be. Outlaw is like a mix of Hill and Clarke. Tons of hustle, good shooter, can get to the hoop and defend 3 positions. Smith is a good shooter, but couldn't beat anyone off the dribble and was a below-average defender. Still anything from Smith would be more than Outlaw is giving us this season.
Robinson is a true freshmen pressed into service and is having his struggles, but he is still able to break down the defense and distribute the ball in a way that Smith isn't. He just needs experience and will be our PG of the future. Much more potential that Mueller and Smith.
Summary: Keep Smith, don't recruit Outlaw and we'd have another PG sized SG to work into the rotation.
If Motley puts in the time this summer and really improves his consistency on his short yardage throws (for example, a throw to a five yard curl route from one hash mark to the field) then he definitely has a shot at the starting job. It's easy to dismiss him because his last start wasn't a good one, but he had some good games this year. He can play. A Motley/Travon backfield excites me more than any other.
I want to see how a "I'm the guy" type of offseason will improve his game.
He is absolutely is incompetent. From his incomprehension of the rules, to horrendous mechanics, to inability to communicate....he is the epitome of lazy, and that is the most vile characteristic an official can possess. Most of all...he seems to place all priority on the "importance" of being a head referee rather than a passion for accuracy, precision, and organization. And it is not just him...but he stands out to me as the worst (shortest midget if you will)

Clarke may not be the best player on the team but he was the player that we could absolutely not lose. Him and Hill were probably our best defenders, sigh.
If you didn't attend the game and didn't watch the game, how do you know Coach Williams avoided all postgame interviews? You do realize he meets with the team after every game before bothering with the media right?
