I was screaming at the top of my lungs and waving my arms trying to get my fellow Hokies excited...nothing doing. Oh well...
Was I the only one that found the amount of silly humor in the movie a little irritating? I'm fine with some humor, but there seemed to be a lot more in this one than any of the previous episodes.

I was also thrown off by him struggling in the duel against Finn, but then I realized that he had been shot by Chewie in the torso right after stabbing Han. So during the duel with Finn he was injured. As for Rey, I have a theory that she is somehow kin to Luke. Not sure how yet, but just a hunch.
It doesn't take a genius to stop a play you've already seen and when you know what the play is gonna be.
It wasn't the least bit effective -- directly or indirectly -- after the first time it was used. It was detriment in fact...particularly to the short side on the 2&3 late in the game when a 1st down probably seals the game.
The irrational exhurberance for Ford in particular baffled me. There were more than a few who thought he could actually start on the road against Ohio State as a true freshman.
I watched a couple of his whole game films (not highlights) and felt pretty certain he was not a power 5 QB. Below avg arm, size, and athleticism. And the supposed advanced QB knowledge was nonsense. From what I saw, he mostly threw slants and flat passes to open receivers who turned 5 yard passes into 30 yard TDs. And I got clobbered here and elsewhere for saying as much...by folks who hadn't watched the film but wanted desperately to believe VT had found the answer.

Either way, it sounds like it'll be good, and Abrams will still be involved as an Executive Producer.
That's the point I was trying to make earlier. No need to freak out because of this one game.

# | OT: Star Wars Episode VII (SPOILERS. SO. MANY. SPOILERS.) This is actually an excellent example of the inconsistencies and many things that are poorly explained in the Star Wars universe. In the original trilogy, there is no reason for you not to believe that every single force user is either a Jedi or a Sith because that is the way it was originally described. What happened in questionably or blatantly non-canon books and video games doesn't matter. It wasn't until the prequels and now these that it was really called into question the idea of someone having the force but not being a jedi or a sith. They even refer to Anakin as a jedi when he is a little kid in the first one, I am pretty sure.
There are/were plenty of other Force users. The Jedi as a group were simply wiped out as an organized a group prior to Episode IV. A few like Yoda and Obi Wan survived. Luke and Leia were special because they were Anankin/Vader's kids.
anyway, back to Episode VII.
Between Episode VI and VII Luke Skywalker was training a new generation of young force-users in the ways of the Jedi, this group included Ben Solo. Meanwhile Snoke (Darth Snoke?) turned Ben Solo to the dark side and Ben joined the Knights of Ren, taking the name Kylo Ren. The Knights of Ren then slaughtered the Jedi trainees and Luke Skywalker fled into self-imposed exile. The Knights of Ren then joined up with the First Order (led by Snoke) and continued their hunt for Skywalker.
I certainly believe it to be a culmination of things. Most of the offensive staff is gone. There has been significant turnover at the top. Lynch is playing in his last game. The focus just doesn't seem to be there for much of the team. Lynch is off target a little bit and when he is delivering catchable passes the receivers are dropping them. Bad day at the office for everyone. I don't really think this game should be an indictment of Cornelson or the offense that Memphis put together for a majority of this season. It's disappointing to see Memphis struggle but I don't think it's an indicator that we should be worried about who we just hired.
Yup, all the more reason why I would like for him to attend hokietown
I wouldn't go so far as to think the guys suddenly forgot how to play football, but it could be an emotion thing or a continuity thing. Maybe they're deflated with the loss of Fuente and some of the staff. Maybe Lynch is checking out because he's ready to move on to the NFL, or maybe Auburn is just a bad matchup for them. The fact that the commentators noted that Lynch was off by himself, not talking to any of the coaches, is not a good look for him, especially back when it was still a one-score game.

Good luck to him and prayers for a speedy recovery. Regardless, I think we can all thank Motley for his contribution to get us bowl eligible. Seems to me that as good an athlete as he is that they could potentially use him as a reciever? Does anybody know what type of hands he has? Size-wise he seems like a nightmare match up for a small DB or most linebackers. Anybody have an opinion on that?

I wonder what the talent gap from Memphis to VT is. And the talent gap from VT to Auburn.
the combo of much of the staff missing, the wet conditions, and some unfortunate drops have made this offense look pretty pedestrian. I wouldn't put too much stock into this though. The talent gap between Memphis and Auburn is pretty vast.

I've seen a team score 21+ points in less than 12 min before though. so there is that.
He could redshirt - and might redshirt by default if he is the #3 guy and doesn't play.
Regardless I'd be a little surprised if he is in Blacksburg for 5 yrs even if he does redshirt. He'll be 24 going on 25 with a 4 yr old kid by then. If he is an NFL talent, he's not likely to want to be a 25 yr old rookie. If he isn't, he likely ends up somewhere else.
