Ok now we're talking. I wanted to keep Bud, Torrian, Burden, and Wiles from the previous staff, in that order. Looks like Fuente has got his guys.

Stiney for recruiting coordinator?

Is this something that's often done? The two positions seem different enough that they aren't interchangeable. Especially if you actually played the position youre not coaching.

He had a nice farewell statement as well, from your link:

"My decision to reach out and communicate with other potential programs is something I feel I must do in order to see if there is a perfect fit for my senior season," Knight said. "I can promise you that no one is more proud to be a Sooner than I am, and in no way shape or form will this take away from my excitement and commitment heading into the championship season. I am truly touched by the support from both Coach Stoops and Coach (Lincoln) Riley, as well as all of Sooner Nation during this time.

"Enough about me. Let's go beat the Tigers. Boomer!"

As for accepting him as a transfer if he wanted to come here, I am generally opposed to bringing in transfers late in their careers. I prefer to bring guys in for their full eligibility and train them. Note that I say generally, because anyone who wants to be a Hokie is okay in my book, and it would be worth taking a look toward seeing how they fit.

I wonder if his opinion changes if Baker goes down with an injury and he leads OK to an MNC. Was his release from scholarship effective immediately? Is he already gone? Or will he be on the sidelines during the playoffs?

Great he also was suspended for punching another coach in a fight during practice, battled sexual harassment lawsuit and let a recruit use his car. If the most important thing to you is winning irregardless of other factors then I have nothing more to say.

Look him up on this site a few months ago and many of us thought he was a horse: His Outstanding Renaissance Should End

I looked up Greatest Of All Time and just found Beamer's picture.

I thought the ore interesting point they raised was the reverse racism, that a white rb has no chance even though they both felt he was the best player. I found that extremely telling especially since Wilbon is always on a discrimination kick...

You know we all laugh about the glove on a stick but I've noticed(maybe wrongly because I haven't looked at the stats) that since Shane became running backs coach and started using the stick the fumbles by our RBs has dropped off considerably. I would be curious what they were before and then after. Seems to me it's been very few fumbles by RBs in recent years.

Fewer bowls will make the regular season more meaningful. When bowls mean something, so to does winning regular season games. Allowing 6-6 and 5-7 teams to have the rewards of a bowl just fosters a culture of mediocrity.

Best possible outcome. He goes to JMU and is still close by to Blacksburg. Also, he gets HC experience and I can pull for him without worrying that he will get a recruit from us... I hope this happens. Granted, this is completely selfish on my part as a Hokie fan, but lets all make this happen. #SHANETOJMU

He had an average of 15.3 attempts per game on the season. I can see that 1800 is a stretch. Let's say Tech plays 13 games (no CFP just a bowl game). If Travon gets 27 carries a game at his current average of 5.22 YPC (this includes negative yards) he will hit the 1800 mark in his last game. Derrick Henry is averaging 28.25 carries per game so that number of carries is high but not outside the realm of possibility. Consider that Travon's YPC is hopefully going up from 5.22 and as long as he's getting 75% of the carries it's possible. It's a stretch but possible.
