That was when he took the VT job. You should see him three years later:

Rotating backs isn't a problem when the backs are playing well. When one back is running hard and the other two backs appear to be running in mud the rotation doesn't make a lot of sense.
Plot twist.
Why any coach or AD would want Mike Locksley on their team is beyond me.
Nice collarbones.
Leg for Jeri Ryan.
I think French's point was pre-ACC, laying the foundation days of VT football. All the players he named were from that era. That;s why he didn't add Brandon Flowers, Jayron Hosley, Kyshoen Jarrett, Josh Morgan, Justin Harper, David Clowney, Sergio Render, Darren Evans, etc.
VT's evaluation of out of state talent has allowed us to pick up some instrumental guys to complement our largely in-state roster. It's selective out of state, which is a good thing. We are more willing to take a chance on an in-state guy usually, which I like. But we still have to have a big enough regional presence that we can go get those guys out of state when we often need them.
Guh......
They have math tutors to help with that.
On fountain?
I Like the quiet, went to high school south or Richmond and some would say that Blacksburg was a step up.
I've lived in Tysons, Arlington, and worked there as well.
I absolutely hate Funfax. I hate going there, the layout, etc. I was ready to give up on a lot of the population there as well. And to be honest, it's still quiet. I also find people who are from there have a weird delusion about proximity and travel. Sitting in traffic for hours to go 10 miles is nuts.
That being said, thank god I moved into the city. Love it here. People are friendlier, and there is true diversity with plenty of options. We may not have a true Hokie bar, but there is great accessibility to options everywhere without driving all over the place. NE DC kept me in this metro area for sure.
That poor poor man.
Henry will get it because he plays for Bama.
But McCaffrey to me is the definition of what the Heisman should be. Amazing college player
Yes- just wanted to talk about building the program. The Hokies have always found diamonds out of state. The focus turned too inward around the late 2000's. It hurt the program long term.
Not that I'm taking sides here, but French, you could have easily pointed out Vincent, Corey, Kyle and Kendall all hailing from Maryland. All have been, are or will be in the NFL.
And yes, I have a one track mind.
I'm with you all the way, I'm one of those people too. I live on the VA/NC border literally (Danville) and state pride his huge here. I played 8th grade JV while Cam Martin was the starting QB for GWHS and Had his uncle as a teacher. I played and went to high school with David Wilson, and I have known Ferrell and Cookie Edmunds since I was little kid and used to ask to see his hands (giant).
There was a never a doubt in anyone's mind that the Martin brothers, David Wilson, or any other athletes from GWHS were going to VT, if they had the chance, because of that state pride. CJ Barksdale (4*) was the best hoops prospect to come out of GWHS in a while and staying in VA meant alot to him. The Edmunds were a little less of a sure thing because of the UMD ties but there's alot of VA pride even on the border.
Calling Scott Loeffer.

Yeah, I think it's ridiculous teams with losing records are making bowls now but you know what? I guarantee you I'll watch at least some of Nebraska/UCLA. Why? Because I love college football.

That's a pretty good case to prove he's a Virginian. He can't help it if someone took him to North Carolina to be born.
Who's that?
He was born in Mt Airy since there's no hospital in Fancy Gap
I have a feeling Derrick Henry is going to get it, being an SEC player. But I would love to see McCaffrey get it!

Needed to get a waiver for one more recruiter going into the final weekend.
