I have to admit, I'm really happy they didn't get Richt.
I worry about UVa for in-state recruiting, but UVa and UNC worry me more in terms of the ACC Coastal.
Who knows, though. This will certainly be interesting.
Good hire, competition level is going up quickly.
Mike London was fired. Did they fire everyone else as well?
Wonder if they'll let him have multiple husbands in Hooville?
Maybe, but he also had a conduit to 23 year olds with eligibility left, and Samoans.
He may well still have that.
Who knows how that translates to Virginia.
UVA 2015 coaches are fired as far as I've heard.
I would say BYU is hard to recruit for, so who knows how well he could do with more than just Mormon students. Kind of like coaches from the service academies, doing more with limited.
I guess since their current coaches aren't coaching for a bowl game, they can call them.
Otherwise, our coaches can call them...
I'm guessing some of them might not necessarily want to join up with Bronco. He's definitely not the same as Mike London, for better or for worse.
It does, but who is keeping these kids committed now? There are no coaches to call them.
I really wanted to see the Mack Brown variety hour come to Charlottesville...bummer, that would've pleased me greatly
I can't believe he left BYU. Mormon coach who was raised in Utah. Nuts.
Doesn't their class already have 27 people in it?
Meh, guy is a decent coach but I don't see the home run hire that UVA was looking for. BYU is unique place to coach and recruit for. You get a stable of Mormons and Pacfic islanders without really trying and the Mormins in the upper classes are 23 years old and up.
Rumors say two other coaches besides Richt also turned them down. Sanford from ND and one other.
Coincidentally, Fuente's first win against his new adversary from hooville came that year, when his offense beat Mendenhall's team 38-7
That's about what I'd expect from BYU in the 21st Century.
BYU benefits from having older kids play for them. I think this makes their teams have a huge advantage with players two years older, and that won't be the case at uva
Brewer's arm strength had a big effect on the WR personnel. Also Bucky is a lethal down field threat but his effectiveness was hampered by that as well.
Think they valued a big target over deep threat wisely. Hopefully we have a guy that can stretch the field with his arm at QB in 2016
I haven't seen this much excitement over UVa football since they hired Al Groh.
That's a Tony Bennett hire. Similar success to Bennett at BYU. Could be a very good hire
Man, shit just got real in the Coastal. We are completely stacked and stand to be one of the best divisions in college football in the next couple of years. This level of competition is going to improve the ACC tremendously and help to forge incredible football teams.
Yes, we have to have standards.
Actually, nvm. My big UVa fan uncle just called me and asked, "Who in the hell is Bronco Mendenhall?" Had a good chuckle.
It's a 2 out ground rule double with nobody on down 12 in the 9th

Damn! This is the freakiest thing I've seen in a while... threw up a little bit.....
