Brohm has basically said that he doesn't want to talk about other opportunities this week.
Which is a lot different than saying he isn't interested.
So I think there's a lot bigger chance he actually interviews, as opposed to the Richt negotiation leverage technique.
Hello from Greenville!
Looks like Coach Fuente's replacement has been hired:

OC at Arizona State.
VANCE VICE! What 70's detective show were his parents watching?

They all look drunk...they will fit right in!
I wouldn't want to fight him.......
I hope he takes the UVA job. Ohhh. The hatred for that schoo would be on another level. People still liked London on a personal level. People hate Richard Rodriguez on a personal level.
Fuente's assistants will receive $3,400,000 per year, total. Bud Foster is scheduled to make $925,000 in 2016, so that leaves $2,475,000 for the other eight assistants. Virginia Tech paid assistant coaches a total of $3,217,190 during the 2015 season.
Assistant coaches will receive 1.5 months of their base salary as a bonus if the Hokies make a Tier 1 bowl. They will receive one month salary if the Hokies make a Tier 2 bowl.
The University will provide a budget of $420,000 for four positions: Director of Operations, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Video Coordinator and Director of Recruiting.
Virginia Tech will pay for the housing of up to nine assistant coaches for three months as they transition to Blacksburg.
Edit. Im assuming you are saying each coach is not necessarily making more.
Either way, this leaves room for a bigger staff or a better paid staff
I remember learning this in school once, but I assumed it was one of those things like when doctors used to recommend cigarettes. We have become smarter since then.
I liked what he had to say a lot and what he looked for in QBs, the weight they place on character
Because it shouldn't be just about him.
The Brewer to Bucky deep connection has been off all year. I don't know if it's Bucky's route running or Brewer's deep ball accuracy, but I am leaning toward Bucky not having a great perception of deep passes and high pointing the ball.
URBANA, Ill. (AP) - The interim chancellor of the University of Illinois' flagship campus says the decision to give interim football coach Bill Cubit a two-year deal was based on the program's need for stability.
This doesn't mention the interim AD who hired the interim coach. This is a completely unstable program, desparately trying to become stable. Doesn't help that it is in the middle of on of the most bankrupt and corrupt states in America. And with all of that, they still did better than UVA.
I don't get this basis here
Spurrier was a coach who did it all and was doing it to have fun doing it.
Beamer is a coach who did it all cause that's all he's done (blue collar coal miner mentality)
When Spurrier realized he was losing and not enjoying it anymore, that the players weren't his/he'd lost the locker room Spurrier decided it was over. He was always only there for the game and when he couldnt help his team he walked away. Spurrier knew it was coming soon. go back and watch the USC/UF 2014 game. Seemed like Spurrier knew it was his last time in the Swamp. https://youtu.be/HBw2xi9KL2I?
Beamer was always there until he felt (the heat that) it was time to go. A win against ECU and/or Miami and a 7-5 VT is not changing the Head Coach. An 8-4 2016 and it's possible its still Beamerball. Beamer is a coach who did it all cause that's all he's done (blue collar coal miner mentality)
Why are we upset/disappointed that a coached walked away when he felt he was no longer helping and no longer enjoying it.
I'm partial to this one

Haaaaa
(I know it says it in the bylaws somewhere not to reply with a lol but I think this is warranted)
I respectfully disagree. Just because everyone else has an ego isn't an excuse to act like a narcissistic, bombastic horse's rear. I think it goes against what VT's culture is at the very core, Ut Prosim.
I care.
I think one of the endearing legacies of CFB is that you don't have to be that way to be a winning coach, and I hope Coach Fuente is in that same mold. Read the inteviews about Frank, the stories everyone has. That's what made him far more special than the win total and bowl streak.
Look at the comments from his former athletes over the past few weeks - very few talk about his ability to develop a player. They all talk about his developing them as a person. Anyone can be a classless winner or loser. We expect better than that. Play the game with character and integrity, we are building our doctors and mayors and business owners, our neighbors.
I'm not sure three question marks really want the UVA job.
According to USA Today 2014 index Memphis salary total was $2,043,178
(post fail - was supposed to be under DoseDiggety's post above)
edited to add: this number did not include Fuente - it was just assistant coaches
That was just Fuente though. No statement I saw had more $$ for assistants. Not that there wasn't any, just none reported
It would be ok if he went to interview and took another HC position elsewhere while he was in Charlottesville, wouldn't it?
http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2015/november/1/kirby-smart-very-inter...
Seems like when Kirby expressed interest in the VT job, people were ready to throw Bud overboard to get a crack at him. But now that UGA hired him, we're more apprehensive about how good Kirby will be.
That is true. By the time he gets the talent level up he'd be 66-67 and it's obvious age is used against older coaches in recruiting. That's a valid point.
Who the hell is Steve Spurrier?!
Heard from #sauces that Brohm told UVA thanks but no thanks. Granted this was before it was reported that Brohm was going to interview for their opening.

Good point. That much awesome at a more visible position might get hired away prett fast if we aren't careful.
