Richt is a good guy. I wouldn't wish that dumpster fire on him.

I hope the U hires Coach Fondue and UVA rehires Al Groh.

Well if anyone knows how to take 5 star talent and plateau that into a 3rd place finish in the Conference it is Richt.

Would be fitting for a Miami team that has never finished even SECOND in the Coastal.

I don't know how much he's getting paid, but I'm pretty sure Navy is a better job than uva right now

Virginia Tech, the Coastal Division, and the ACC all serve to benefit if Miami is "back." Richt is an extremely good coach and I look for him to get the job done.

Damn that's a stacked list. At this point, you gotta say that Clawson and Doeren are the worst purely looking at it from a production standpoint, although Petrino hasn't exactly set the world on fire in his return.

UVA should grab Golden or Mack Brown, and Miami should go Schiano. Who even cares what Syracuse does, if we aren't talking basketball, they're just turf-eaters.

Not worried about him making Miami better, but I don't like the idea of Miami's in-state recruiting becoming better. We always seem to snag some good guys from the sunshine state and I hope this would not hinder that.

The ACC is making moves to be a very dangerous league in the not-too-distant future.

THIS!! The future is interesting...

A lot of that can also be contributed to the way Beamer handled the transition. Bowden was not going out on his terms and Paterno needed a scandal to finally be forced out (and maybe the stress killed him). Beamer was not going to let either of those options define him.

I actually have pretty high hopes about the offense, even early on. It seems to me like Fuente is a simplified playbook guy with an eye towards maximizing the output of the players he has. This compared to Lefty who can design amazing plays, but there are so many plays that it is impossible to get the practice time for good execution. It seems like Fuente hits the balance.

He may not fit the culture that Miami is known for, and that their fanbase longs for, but I think he certainly fits the culture that the administration (who's in charge of the hiring process) wants. Being an alum will likely somewhat quiet the folks who care more about swagger than winning football games. If Richt does return to coaching, my money's on him going to Miami.

Which is hilarious, because he played for them right at the start of their run when they established the culture he doesn't fit

Actually your comment is very lame and uncalled for. You don't KNOW what happened there or his heart or motives. Seriously

Shoot, I've even seen a few sites linking Shane to the USCe head gig.

Richt doesn't fit at Miami. He would be good for them on the field because he's a great coach. But he doesn't fit their culture.

This could be huge for Shane. USCe is high and dry right now without a coach and seemingly all of the viable previously identified candidates are heading in other directions. If Shane gets an offer for this job, he should jump at it with both feet.
