I will be very happy for him, when he goes in a high round this April.
Which is exactly what F Beamer would be telling him regardless of whether he retired this year or not. He's on record as saying he always tells guys to leave if they're a 1st round lock.
sometimes those kinds of nights make one return for their senior year

What's latest on his health? Is he good to go for NFL workouts or combine? Or one of the bowls?
I believe the question was poised by the media to Tech as to whether they would allow Kendall to participate in Senior Day since he is leaving, even though he is not a senior. The answer came back 'No'.
Don't buy Mullen. It isn't impossible if UVA decides that they want to be a football school again, but I will believe it when they start acting like it. Golden would seem like a better fit. Already has his tie ready as well.
Miami as a city is all about the 'hot' thing. If Miami starts winning, the bandwagon fans will show up in droves.
This, this, this, a thousand times this. If Chip goes there and starts winning, the stadium will be packed. Would be a good idea to steal back Randy Shannon to be DC there as well, I think
It makes me sad that I did not put him in the top 4. This coming from one of the biggest Bud Foster supporters there is. Such a strange thing to be such a foregone conclusion that it isn't happening.
This tweet confuses me. Wouldn't he only participate in senior day as a junior if he was expecting to not come back. But it says he's not participating and expected to go pro. Seems like senior day is now a completely irrelevant portion of this tweet.
Regardless, the only way he stays is if his grade comes back lower than expected.
If you believe some of the rumors circling right now, Dan Mullen is in the mix along with Al Golden should Mike London be fired.
Bud foster needs to be on VTs big board as well.
Geography, and about a half a dozen more hours of travel time. Virginia has more talent than south Carolina. I agree the focus can't just be in-state, but it can't just be out of state either. Truth is, if we continue to have the success out of state while also sealing up virginia, we will have great classes.
Again, this requires improvement and not a big "culture change." We're recruiting more in GA and FL than we ever did, beyond the Delray Beach connection. We don't necessarily have the recruiting infrastructure to be competitive nationally, but we're doing more of it than ever. If we don't win the state, then we have people complaining that we're letting Bama, FSU, Clemson, etc. poach our 757 connection. If we say it's because we're focusing out of state, then people complain about not winning the state. It's an endless cycle where you can cherry-pick all the stats you want. Winning will cure a lot of that. Clemson is having their pick of recruits because they are winning. Clemson is not really a classic football program, but they have a few years of recent success and that makes them exciting. They are now what we were 5 or 6 years ago but where we failed to capitalize because of outdated recruiting practices, they are modern and succeeding. Again, Bud is right - we need to do what we do best and then do better. This again is not "culture change," it is "continually improve."
I have no idea what point you're trying to make with the quotes and images above. Bud is stating matter-of-factly that he believed the game plan would work but it came down to execution failures by young players. That's going to happen. His system requires solid play and mental clarity. Both things are lacking when you're throwing freshmen out there. If you want to argue that Foster's system isn't working, that's one thing. But that's going to be a hard argument to make.
Is Tulsa official yet?
Love this format- thanks for sharing!
Would love if he unexpectedly comes back in 2016, but I never expected him to stay at Tech beyond 3 years no matter what happened here (redshirt or not, injury or not, coaching change or not). Wishing him all the best at the next level!

WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT...GENIUS
In my eyes i dont want him. If he is holding out for a bigger/better job, then he isn't our guy. The way i see it, this would be an opportunity to make VT into one of those schools, and if he doesn't agree, then he doesn't fit.

"That's the unfortunate thing, I thought we had our best week of practice, particularly the young kids," said defensive coordinator Bud Foster. "But tonight, the young kids who showed good improvements had the busts again. It wasn't anything we didn't practice."

we practiced that all week and we didn't execute," Beamer said. "That wasn't an onside kick at all. I was hoping you get a cheap one, you get the knuckle ball rolling down there...But when it takes a high hop and the front line gets it, that's not very good execution."

We don't need to win the State. This isnt 1996 or 2000 and we didnt just win the Sugar Bowl. Recruiting and College Football have changed.
Clemson has ~30% of recruiting from in state. They are #1 right now. They Recruit Heavly in Ga and FL and we recruit lightly in GA and lighter in FL
Why are we not getting the best players from Ga and Penn or Flordia
As offense is becoming more important, it's important to change with the times. Let's call it Inflation, but over the last 7 seasons the avg points scored has risen 1.2% a year. That includes Big 12 scoring shootouts and UCF unable to score points
Year National Avg VT avg
2008 27.12294543 22.1
2009 27.04467806 31.8
2010 27.97771953 33.9
2011 28.29338572 27.9
2012 29.25796178 25.1
2013 29.44731861 22.5
2014 29.42628993 24.1
2015 29.54092527 29.5
At that point, we'd be pressing the restart button on the program.
Yea a 4 year Home record of 14 - 11 is a good sign, We've had a pretty weak home schedule for those 4 years. 27 - 23 overall
Nice
Houston and Navy play today at noon on ABC. If Navy wins, Tom Herman would be available immediately. Will definitely be watching that one.

I want this Herman offense... (but realistically I want any offense that isn't Loeffler).
