I'll gladly pay for a large scale poster of that picture.
Very nice article. We will all miss Frank.
Me, too.... me, too!
Uhhh, did you just say the defense played pretty badly? What have did you watch?
My story book ending was -
"catch" gets overturned.
We block FG attempt, return for Touchdown. Game over.
Syracuse has fired Scott Shafer
This is funny because you combined the names of Clemson's current Co-OC's. It's Jeff Scott and Tony Elliot.
Bama fans are probably rejoicing
Very well written.
Anybody else doing a Beer Advent calendar? My siblings and dad and I are all bringing 24 beers each to Thanksgiving and swapping them around and having one every day from Dec 1 thru 24. We're not wrapping the beers or decorating or anything, but it would make a pretty cool gift idea if you did something like this.
Those quick passes to TE's and WR's on third down you are referring to are packaged plays and are a major point of contention right now because they are almost ALWAYS ineligible men downfield on those plays because they are run/pass options. They are extremely hard to defend and are a staple of the Baylor/TCU style offense.
My biggest issue was that no matter who was in Lefty forgot he was allowed to run between the tackles...
There were other games? Where? /s
I'd prefer to go younger, but I also wouldn't question a hire like Miles.
One thing is for sure, though. Whit has some options this year.
If you want a watermark free one for a print, you'd need to talk to Joe.
I don't think Jimbo leaves FSU. FSU is a brand name team that, while a short stint out of the 25 during Bowden's final years, is easy to recruit to and usually at least in the conversation for the title. Plus FSU has a pretty easy slate to the playoffs, really just need to beat Clemson and win the ACCCG. While LSU is another brand name team, they do have a tougher road to hoe to the playoffs. Plus LSU isn't doing that bad. Although they have 3 straight losses this year they are what 9-3 now? Not too bad, although I know LSU fans and boosters are wanting SECCG wins and playoff trips.
If LSU does open up I think Miles is a good hire for a lot of teams and LSU becomes an equivalent school in terms of "better jobs". LSU may be easier to recruit to and be a "bigger name" but, as mentioned, they have a tougher road to the playoffs than VT. Plus LSU fans and boosters look to be a little fickle and if whomever doesn't produce wins right away it's easy to see them clamoring for someone else.
Plus, LSU isn't open right now. And neither is FSU so we can talk about what jobs are better "if" this school fires their coach or that school fires their coach. But as of now there are certain schools that are currently looking for a coach. I don't think he waits to see what other coaches get fired and possibly lose out on a deal that he likes.
Fancy Gap Shuffle
I just loled at work
This is the type of post that UVA fans laugh at. It's also the type of post that makes Hokies most proud.
Thank you for keeping farming alive. It's never glamorous work, its rarely even satisfying. You're fighting the wills of weather, animals and markets perpetually. It takes long days, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But it is the essence of who we are as Americans, and specifically, as Hokies.
Edit: I would have pooched it over the line as well.
How can we get a HD high quality version of the picture in the other TKP thread of the players carrying him off the field? That picture captures this day so well. As you said, it was surreal. Even the background of that picture is great!
I want to get it framed for the Hokie Room in our home. Thanks
I am so glad my wife and I were there. No words...., no words....
And...
THAT WAS NO CATCH! DARN IT!! Should have been 4th down for UNC in OT...
Chad Morris looks like a good recruiter too. Despite the 2-9 record, he's got the 2nd ranked recruiting class in the AAC.
HE IS ALIVE.....that is all that matters. The next episode is going to be so kick ass with how the church steeple fell. So many zombie kills to look forward to, we have been rather light on that recently with all the people backstories.
Bravo. Nicely done, Pierson.
I grew up in Stuarts Draft! Ayyy Augusta County!
Completely agree on your reasoning on noon kickoffs.
I thought the same thing on the kick after our 1st score in the 4th. I was hoping for like a really high short kick so our headhunters could race down the field in hopes of a bobble, etc.
I have a lot of thoughts on the play calling, so I'll just let this be my only statement.
FTFY
Monday, Wednesday and Saturday were up for consideration with Friday getting the nodtofor a NOON kick off to the Christmas shopping season!

The defense with the exception of giving up some third downs played lights out for the first three quarters holding UNC under 190 yards. Then the defense used blindfolds for the fourth quarter giving up over 200 yards.
