Agree with the other posters here...this is Beamer's time to shine right now. We can show appreciation for Bud at a later, more appropriate time.
Just tried the Guinness Nitro IPA. It was pretty damn good.
Why don't more breweries experiment with the nitrogen capsule in the can?
When the time is right
Yes.
I won't disagree with this. But I won't begrudge Loeffler either. Again, wish him well on his next stop.
Scar blows, doesn't matter what conference they play in.
It's not the video games.
It's the number of guys that don't prioritize and instead of performing tasks to further themselves, they take undue pride in the various " medals and achievements" instead of studying the nuances that would enable them to become masters of their craft.
The video game addict is the stereotype of this type.
And yeah, I play video games too but, I know of what he refers.
Just a thought, but maybe our scheme had something to do with that? Maybe forced them to sell it a little longer, causing much higher fumble risk? French, I want answers!
Frank leaving is killer but I think when Bud leaves it's going to hit me pretty tough. It's like a parent dealing with empty nest syndrome once all the kids are out of the house.
maybe when he retires or leaves for another position?
yea I see a 0% chance of that happening. Morris wants a big time HC position
It was a verbal thing I saw a long time ago. It wasn't a direct quote from him but was a talking head or something so, my Google fu doesn't hold up to find it.
Also, there is an NFL player with the same tattoo that had the same problem. He was from PSU, a TE. He solved the problem by adding an additional "S" after to make it "GIFTS".
Think more of the '97 season. Finished 7-5.
I think everyone needs to take a chill pill. Grown ass men getting their feelings hurt over a football forum post, good lord.
Am I the only one on here old enough to recognize Frank Gifford?
As a Ricghmond Catholic school alum I'd like to see more Benedictine kids come to VT. Thought they were doing ok with having three BHS kids on the roster this year but haven't gotten a commitment out of them this year.
You have a source on that?
As a successful 20-something that plays video games all the time, I fail to see your point.
Scott Loeffler starring in "The Martian"
I did earlier once I saw the edit.
Must not be a fan of apostrophes
LOL...some people just live in fantasy land.
Don't hate on my wizkids.
Auditioning for This Week In Schadenfreude? I think you've got a good chance!

It's worth noting that my strongest feelings of Bud's ability to be the HC stretch as far back as '07, when we were flirting with a (still extremely unlikely, due to the human correction factor) chance at a NC berth without a functioning offense.
Seeing Bud's Defense as a supreme example of competence, contrasted with the FireBrianStinespring- FCS-esque offense, I think I might speak for a lot of fans when I say that I felt then that the idea that Bud should simply be awarded the next in line when Beamer retires should be automatic and written in contract. No matter that he hadn't had the HC experience, knowing then that he could regularly adapt and plug in ~ above average talent to keep an amazingly effective defense on the field was enough to say "This man deserves a chance".
Fast forward 8 years, and the man hasn't gotten any younger. His 2015 defense is about as bad as it has been under him. And I imagine a few fans have left that bandwagon with the more popular "Clean Slate and spin the wheel of chance" crowd.
But I don't see a glaring weakness, even in 2015 (age, lack of recruiting "ability". While several here have pointed out his "recruiting weaknesses", I'm not sure how a fiery & passionate coach could really suck at that, and I don't see any real evidence that he does other than admitting that it's not his favorite part of the job).
I do still see passion, playing well above his level with the talent he has and a continuous ability to adapt and admit he needs help when he does (a la going to Iowa to figure out how they stopped GT's triple option). Giving up several DL to patch up the glaring hole on offense doesn't hurt him in my mind, either, and I don't know of too many times the defense pilfered the offense for bodies.
He's itching to be the HC somewhere decent where he has a chance to succeed. He'd really like to stay home and do it. I understand that one day his golden ticket at VT will expire. Hasn't yet for me. I'm not Whit.
