This might be the most Virginia Tech post ever.

You sir are awesome.
If Morris could grab Tony Scott as the OC that would be awesome.
I'm not gonna lie, if it's Morris I'll be a little disappointed cause I really want Herman. I'm sure I'll get over it quickly and will still be excited but you know how it is.
Why.....why does VT seem like a ceiling for Morris but Herman can have any job he wants?? Plus VT is one of the best jobs available so why wouldn't Herman look here. What other school is he waiting for that is a better job than Tech??
I'm sure that if Morris becomes the guy that French will educate us on his offense more. But from what I've read, it's very efficient and probably pretty easy to learn. Smash mouth spread is a Gus Malzahn derivative and we have a lot of the pieces in place to be successful immediately from a personell standpoint
From what I've heard Morris is working with next to nothing at SMU. D3 type talent, and loaded with high school coaches who probably couldn't recruit their way out of a wet paper bag. Rumor is if we hired him, he would probably try to and successfully be able to grab Tony Scott, the wide receiver coach and Co-OC at Clemson, Who I think is a very good recruiter too. I think it would be a very good hire personally
oh man, yeah. When we moved my oldest sister in in '94, the traffic was so bad my mom cracked open the atlas to try to figure out a way around it. She just recently stopped using exit 128 "because it's faster than 460"
Finally.....a #marinade.....since this all began I've been told it's.....Morris, RR, Richt, Herman, and maybe Fuente.
All from this site.....love it.
I think if he is still here in 2017, he won't be going anywhere if VT is doing well or back to form. He is starting to age out of HC starting timeline, so he would probably just ride out as one of the greatest assistants of all time.
Which is why my business plan initially didn't work in DC. I was following Hess Brewing in hoping for 98% sales from brewery. Means way more money in pocket. DC has now changed some laws to allow for pint sales. But at the time I didn't want to pay for kegs, canning, or bottling, especially with a small 3 barrel system. Oh well, maybe sometime down the road. For now, I can design them till then.
jeez, I know some people didn't like the spice girls, but I've never heard someone refer to them as the spice cows before. Is there some story behind this egbert?

There is a lot of buzz about the Big 12 expanding. If so, Houston would be a logical choice. Even more reason for Herman to stay.
Great article Alex. As an alum from the late 70's, I think the school is better than it was when I was down there. Obviously, the football program has grown but the B-ball has taken a huge hit since the late 70's. We use to be a powerhouse in the Metro conference but Buzz has them on the way back. One thing I have noticed is the town now embraces the students, that was not always the case in the 70's.
I have now retired and my wife is still working, but we are in the planning stages of selling the house in NOVA and moving to SW VA. Probably just outside of Montgomery county. The way the area has grown is amazing and very conducive to people who want to get away from the madness up here. Coach Beamer might not be responsible for everything but he sure has made a huge impact.
We aren't going to be winning any recruits right now until the new coach is announced. The good thing is, the ones who haven't picked us could change their minds quickly if we get the right guy.
I did not understand when we would get ourselves in second and long situations and then we run off tackle. Especialy after those crucial holding calls when we would get ourselves in 1st and 20.
Question:
What recruiting does UNC have over VT defensively? According to 247sports composite rankings UNC has exactly 3 defensive recruits that are higher than a 3 star. How is that any better than the 6 composite 4 stars that VT has gotten in the same time frame?
Answer:
You rambling on about some hypothetical about how teams play to certain fractions of their averages. Or. Something.
I have no idea how anything you said even remotely answers the question about defensive recruiting.
He's a helluva coach.
He's been DC at VT spice cows invented cream for coffee.
I can't imagine how he'd make other than a competent HC. It's not like he wouldn't have the administrative help. He's been tutored under one of the best.
The guy knows offense in order to be able to defend against them so well.
I'd give him a shot.
SMU is not equivalent to Houston.
I was thinking about this during the game Saturday. While it was definitely Franks last home game, it might have been Buds too. And he did an awesome job against a UNC offense that has been insane all year.
Morris consistently fielded great offenses at Clemson, he's a great recruiter. If he were able to have Bud beside him, I feel he could be successful.
I'll throw the best comparison I have, Buzz's first year at VT.
Can someone please explain to me why Morris seems like a good hire? He's 2-9 at SMU, he's no Herman. Culturally the fit makes some sense but I don't see any results behind his coaching to back that he can rebound this program to be successful.
What if all this is really a hoax and Frank is actually coming back to coach next year?

Whether he gets the promotion or not, if he's still here in 2017, I'm all about focusing Hokie football on the rock of competence.
Shit, if he leaves, do I have a second favorite team?
the Cocks have sucked
