Seems like the most logical scenario right now. Herman would need to hear what other jobs open up, Morris can be feel assured that this is the best gig he's going to be offered right now. Richt or Miles aren't available yet. Fuente doesn't meet the "great recruiter" description. Rhule isn't a QB guru like mentioned in this tweet.
Yeah it was. You know what else was awesome that wasn't shown on TV? When Frank ran out of the tunnel for the last time, JC Coleman was right there by his side. Two guys that made a whole lot of what they were given, neither of which should have succeeded to the extent that they have. There are few who could have been a better fit to run out with him on his last day
#sauce: Your dad works at Nintendo and can confirm that Mario has not received any calls from Whit. Luigi, however . . .
I agree but hold the phone for a second...
Houston tends to hire good people and maintain some semblance of a strong organization, including having a history that includes Art Briles and Kevin Sumlin as coaches before Herman.
They might just be a great program that develops coaches. Houston also has some history being at the plus ten-win mark (see link above) prior to Herman, including in the old SWC with Texas, Ok, et. al.
So 'new heights'? No, not really. But 'big success', yeah, except for UConn yesterday. Herman is quality, no argument there.
I highly doubt Strong leaves Texas. The AD wants to keep him and he has been adamant about staying in Austin.
I reset my downvote because you edited. I'd encourage others to do the same
I'll keep this sort of short and sort of sweet. The atmoshere was amazing in the stands. The most people I have seen in a couiple of years. Frank has made VT what it is today. All the videos were outstanding. But in the end, this team has exactly 1 victory over a team that has a winning record after 12 weeks of college football and that is NC state. Their inconsistant play in every facet of the game is extremely frustating. Let's just hope we can get 1 more victory to finish the storybook career chapter. GO Hokies!! We love you Frank and thanks for the memories.
Well, there is a Paternoville...but it's tents, all the way down
Next to every single HokieBird statue in Blacksburg.

Where do we put the bronze Beamer???
ESPN videos will not play if you have an ad blocker enabled. This being said, when you turn your ad blocker off, prepare for a 30 second ad on every video.
Is there actually a measured source for that or is that a considered opinion?
I saw the grown man almost in front of me, need to hold his ears for the volume.
Can't stand those hyphenated stadium names. Beamer Stadium will do.
Thanks. Both of you. It makes me feel a smidgen better. But I can't help but feel that this game is a toss up. And a big one for us at that. Where and what are our advantages? I feel a tad better but still mostly worried.

# | Hokies Nearly Earn Storybook Lane Ending for Frank Beamer, Drop Home Finale to UNC 30-27 in OT True. But Frank wouldn't be fired and Scot is already fired.
Other than 2 fumbles, UNC was trucking our defense the entire 4th.
I completely agree with you on that. Like I said, I don't agree that he did it but when so many coaches can question a group of kids publicly, I don't think coaches should go completely unaccounted for either.
No TV coverage of the entrance because College Gameday had not ended.
The way college football is now, losing one game is the difference between making the playoffs and possibly going to the national championship, or not.
There are no mid-season "pre-season" games.
The 4th quarter was the loudest quarter Lane Stadium history. Go Hokies!
Sorry, MSU fan here as well. I cheered like mad when they knocked of the Urban Cryer's. I would love for them to get into the playoffs for the B1G.
We also played UNC far better than two teams that beat us did. I have confidence that we will continue to hold onto the commonwealth cup.
As much as some fans are calling for their heads for going conservative in overtime?
After watching both Pete Carrol and Urban Meyer (twice now) create juggernauts that end up imploding on themselves, I become more impressed with Saban's ability to hold together a ship with all 5-star guys.
I'm not saying I like Saban, just it makes you realize how hard it is to not let the program grow bigger than your authority once you start winning championships.

Is there a good video of the Enter Sandman entrance anywhere? I assumed we'd get to see it, but we didn't.
