I think if we don't see improved play by Motu by the time ACC play comes around we have something to worry about.
I don't know if there is anyone else that Bud can put in there cause Motu is the best he has. It may just be a case of mea culpa. (i think i used that right)
Hopefully he we are able to drop a lot of points on teams if he stays the starter and doesn't improve. We'll need to outscore GT if that's the case. they are the one team where the Mike position will get us killed.
neither of them look very good. ken looks hurt to me not sure what's going on. Hopefully they'll pick it up soon because the clips of them in the fall were encouraging, but it's not translating.

My thoughts:
McAttack - Young player - coaches are building confidence by letting him do what he does best, attacking the outside - I just hope he he doesn't learn to bounce everything outside when needed to go inside.
JC - Did fine until taken out. Still undersized to be great at what he does, but always ran better in the second half, when the D is run down, like most "power backs".
Trey - Needs better situational/numbers awareness. Great ability to wait for blocks to set up, and gets good runs because of it, but you can't wait for blocks to set up when the you are on the goal line or third and 1 or 2. The D is charging the ball and usually will outnumber the blockers.
Shai - looked like he was timid and does not yet trust his knee. Sure the brace does not help with that,
On the rotation - I thought it looked more like a scrimmage type substitution that a game type, with the coaches running with a plan for each back than for the game. Lets get McAttack some confidence, get JC and Trey enough carries he and Motley are on the same page on the options, and get Shai some work to see where he is in his recovery in a game situation. If it continues this way I will be concerned, but this is what I expect from a tune-up game, like W&M last year.
I agree. I didn't feel that I saw Dadi and Ken that much. I expected to see them in the backfield all day long.

I've had conflicting opinions over this. I kind of liked what OSU's kicker did (with the exception of the kickoff he angled out of bounds) where the kick was shallow enough to be tempting for a return man but high enough for the coverage team to be on top of the returner in a hurry. In retrospect though, not giving OSU's electric athletes a chance on returns and not risking a coverage team injury vs FCS Furman seems like the right decision. I'd still like to see us try it out at some point going forward.
It's spreading to the QB's now.
We may need to start changing coaches mid-series.

That isn't how you win football games. Field position and field goals are a good strategy when combined with stellar defense, clock management and good special teams but getting into the endzone is what makes a great team.

He appeared to be noticably limping on his way back to the line of scrimmage or the sideline after plays. That could explain it. I hope it's nothing major.
Wasn't able to watch the game, but kept up with stats, as Tyrod is on one of my fantasy teams...will be evaluating Matt Ryan's performance tonight. It seems my team may have a QB controversy

I am very excited about him. He seems to have that Percy Harvin type of versatility that we haven't had/or utilized effectively when we've had it. I want him to keep getting more touches, but I assume there is some reason he isn't the back getting the majority of the standard run plays between the tackles. Perhaps he is still learning to read blocks well or they are concerned with his durability or pass protection. Regardless, I am want him to get more touches and I am excited about having him for the next few years.

2009 - 53 opportunities, 88.68% scoring (ranked #13 nationally), 60.38% TD/28.30% FG
2010 - 62 opp, 90.32% scoring (#6), 73.02% TD/17.46% FG
2011 - 70 opp, 74.29% scoring (#103 OUCH), 50% TD/24.29% FG
2012 - 41 opp, 87.80% scoring (#18), 51.22% TD/36.59% FG
2013 - 42 opp, 73.81% scoring (#112 OUCH), 54.76% TD/19.05% FG
2014 - 48 opp, 87.50% scoring (#34), 52.08% TD/35.42% FG
So we've been up and down in terms of overall scoring %, but the main issues with our offense have typically been GETTING those red zone opportunities. Took a nose-dive after 2011, with the slightest uptick over 2012-2014. Once we get to the red zone, we're converting TDs at about the same rate, but sustaining drives well enough to get downfield has been the issue for years. 2011 looks like quantity over quality - we were in the red zone a TON, hence how we were able to score enough to win a decent number of games, coupled with explosive playmakers who could break off a big run/catch and score without being in the red zone first.
