French,
What are your thoughts on Alexander getting the majority of the reps at Rover moving forward? I know you are high on his coverage abilities and had some doubts with this gap filling responsibilities, but Frye has either missed or been out of position several times in a very small sample already.

I noticed a couple of other things about the game:

1) How much bigger/bulkier pads used to be. Did you see the shoulder pads on some of those dudes? Makes them look a LOT bigger than they were.

2) The good old neck roll. If you played anywhere near the line of scrimmage and didn't have a neck roll attached to your shoulder pads you weren't crap. I miss those days...

I definitely high fived the Hokie Bird in the stands during OSU

I was at the Mississippi State - LSU game this weekend.

Cowbells are LOUD! They've come up with some rules in the SEC so that you can use cowbells except during plays, when the fans switch from cowbells to the standard yelling. It a close game, it was pretty significant.

Notre Dame was leading, 26-14, when their starting quarterback rolled his ankle and left the game. They had missed a 43-yard field goal earlier, and had missed some early scoring opportunities.

The score may have been close at the end, but Notre Dame should have had this game in hand.

Mike is a great guy. Mike is a leader. He's the best example of a leader that I think we've had.

Great acknowledgement statement by Motley. The closest NFL QB that I can compare to Brewer is Nawlins QB Drew Brees. Maybe this is more because of Brewer's size and headiness. I know Brewer has some long passing concerns, but the rest of his game, toughness, and leadership capabilities are right there with Drew. Brewer is preparing for his hopeful return, which also shows his team leadership capabilities, and prepares him for his career after college. These days, due to his size and lack of paying time, he likely doesn't see the pros. This kid has "coach" written all over him. He has been dealt some cards and he is playing them correctly. Hokie, all the way.

Come to think of it, it did seem like there was more Buckeye than Bird on the field during the first game.

I don't recall seeing him on the field that much but he was hanging out in the NEZ for a while. He's definitely around though
