They call them peepstones.
Notre Dame isn't all that. GT will handle them next week.
On that note, I'm terrified of GT this year. Looks like CPJ has finally got his protypical option QB, and they are rolling. They look scary fast.
He wore it because it was "His time to shine"
did we allow any sacks against Furman?

# | QBs Brenden Motley, Dwayne Lawson Strut Their Stuff, Hokies' Offense Roasts Furman 42-3 OL protection, and run blocking, has been by far the most encouraging thing we have seen this year.
My friend was thanking me for convincing him to pick up Tyrod in his fantasy draft. Next week is going to be a huge game for him. Hopefully it turns out just as good.
OT: Does anybody have any idea when the 2016 VT spring football game will be held? A quick google search didn't bring anything up, and it's fairly likely that it hasn't even been scheduled yet but I wanted to check in and see if anybody had a little insider info about it. TIA
I believe the usual situation is "if you don't start me, you owe me money since it will make me look bad." I can't imagine Cassel has that, though.
yeah maybe but I think that you're starting to get a little too cute at that point. Another factor is that RBs tend to be groove players. They generally play much better when they don't have to split carries with 4 other backs. Look at JCC last year. He was all we had left and he played well. He even went so far as to say that it's much easier to get into a groove when you're not constantly being subbed in and out.
My main point, though, is that I don't like the idea of getting our smallest back in the game for an obvious passing down. If everyone and their brother knows we need to pass the ball at least stick Edmunds or somebody who can eat up a linebacker blitz in there instead of a 5'-6" 187 lbs scat back.

# | QBs Brenden Motley, Dwayne Lawson Strut Their Stuff, Hokies' Offense Roasts Furman 42-3 I feel like we're never that lucky to get the PI calls for us. It'd be much more our luck to get the PI against us. I wonder if this works more against us because the technique our DBs use?
Yea and I also don't understand how a contract would be structured to financially reward someone for not starting. The anti-incentive.
I also don't really like the idea of rotating RBs in and out based on situations. Other teams will pick up on tendencies really quickly and they'll have a pretty good idea based on our personnel what kind of play to expect.
I understand where your heads at, but I like using guys situationally, especially if they are versatile. You can use them to build tendencies only to break them at crucial points in the game and dictate the look your opponent will give you. Get that muscle memory from the first six times they saw something in the game and use it against them.
Maybe so, but I believe they would have ridden a signature win over *Notre Dame* for awhile.
I'd like to see what it was from 2009 to 2014. I bet the FG to TD ratio is skewed the wrong direction.
That guy was on a mission...to destoy your balls
Not against Rob Schneider, though.

JC in on 3rd downs
i completely disagree with this. JC is the smallest back we have and I don't feel comfortable with him in pass protection.

Other teams will pick up on tendencies really quickly and they'll have a pretty good idea based on our personnel what kind of play to expect. I think the best case is to establish a clear #1 and let him play 2 or 3 entire series before spelling him with #2 and #3. At that, those 2nd and 3rd guys should get their own series and not just spot duty. I am definitely not a fan of the rotation that Shane employs. Whether it's him or Loeffler, I don't know. All I know is that I don't like it.
It still doesn't make much sense to me. Cassel just completed a cut-and-resign.
I'm still on the Trey hype train. I think we should at least give Trey the ball in the right situations 12+ times per game and have Travon and Shai spell him, JC in on 3rd downs.
This JC does not look like the end-of-2014 JC.
If I'm Matt Cassel I'm calling BS on that. I'm not starting, pay me my money.
Motuapuaka is probably a deadly pillow fighter.
