I was at this game. Stadium was about 80% full, but about 40% of the fans were ND fans. It was like a neutral site game. The golden domers D did not play like they did against Texas. With soft coverage, inside releases and underneath routes were open all day, and LOLUVA was able to take advantage. They scored on a trick play, but ND did too. How Candiday let Fuller get behind him is inexplicable.
Oh, I can confirm that LOLUVA has apparenty lost all hope of ever beating us. Their countdown clock outside their locker room no longer shows the time until they play us, just the upcoming game.
I think any hopes for Saturday can safely assume the preface of "once we're comfortably ahead." :)

Love the effort from Brewer. That kid is an asset and its a shame he won't get to be on the field for the start of ACC play. This was a really nice short week effort that we have seen go much worse in years past. To speedy recoveries and another good week. Go fighting meat tenderizers!
Generally, I'd think this to be true, but there's quite a bit of parity in the major conferences. The SEC could realistically cannibalize it's chances to put a team in the playoff, as could the PAC-12. The ACC is weaker now than in the last few years, so we could get ignored. The Big 12 is a gaping question mark, because TCU and Baylor haven't sold me, Oklahoma is better than expected, and West Virginia is markedly improved. If ever there was a year for an outsider team to make the playoff, this could be it. Then again, we've only just finished week 2, with a lot of great games left to be played.

Although, the independents and Group of 5 wildcards are in an interesting situation. I'm sure that there are some politics going on with the committee this year, since one of those outside teams would mean that two conferences are left out. And if it comes down to a Big 12 team vs. an "outsider", I'm sure they'll lean to the Big 12, since they didn't get in last year.
Bingo. Boise has a cakewalk from here on out. BYU doesn't, so I'd rather BYU knock Boise out now, so BYU can get knocked out next week. Similar reasoning behind me pulling for UVA over Notre Dame. I know UVA is gonna lose later on (hell, probably against Boise), so beating Notre Dame makes it harder for the Irish to get in the playoff discussion without UVA getting into it. Now I'm stuck rooting for Notre Dame to knock down Georgia Tech next week, and then hoping Notre Dame drops a few others (Stanford, Navy, and Temple being the ones I'd most like to see do it. )

I wasn't all that impressed with him vs anOSU but I was willing to give him another shot. He did stupendous yesterday (albeit only against an FCS opponent). Agree with what some folks are saying in regards to "up the gut." I still have JCC as my #1 back, but now I have Edmunds and McMillan tied for #2.
I just checked my guide, and it looks like the Bills/Patriots game is going to be on CBS in the Richmond area next Sunday. It's likely the CBS default game next week.
I believe, based on what I've read, that the contract is based on percentage of snaps played and performance. IT's possible that the "starting QB" might be the one whose contract made it beneficial for Buffalo to start him so that they don't have to pay some kind of benefit. Might be some sort of "if you're not the starter at the beginning of the season, we owe you X."
Yeah, their next two games are at UCLA and at Michigan. They also have Cincy and at Missouri later on. I don't see them staying perfect, and one loss would probably be enough to knock them out of playoff contention.
The Liberty/WVU game was broadcast through Root Sports, which is Fox-owned. (Fox has some of the Big 12 rights.) That's why it wasn't showing up through ESPN3. You might be able to get it through the Fox Sports Go app.
I can certainly do that. I think we can all agree the pervasive false starts and illegal procedures last year were indicative of players not yet being fully comfortable within the scheme.
Beyond false starts and illegal procedures, are there any penalties you want to see tracked? I originally thought about tracking holding penalties, but I think that says more about an individual lineman's development than the overall offense.
Well he still started for them and got a snap. I am not sure location matters as much.
Yeah, ESPN does score corrections. Usually they're done within 24 hours of a game ending.
I feel like we should be comparing number of penalities, especially false starts and the like.

I was talking about Liberty's game against the cousins that was on at the same time as VTs game. Haven't checked to make sure, but it wasn't even listed live, so I don't think it'll be available as a replay.

Edit: french, once again, thanks for another excellent breakdown that will help me become upset at miniscule details that my wife and the rest of my family will not see. I appreciate your hard work and it always makes me wish I'd at least tried out for my high school's football team that at the end of my career there had only a single blemish on a pristine totally defeated record.
