Thanks STL, was wondering too. Something tells me this kid will be ready for primetime in the near future. I will not forget that second quarter (and last year in Columbus) and what this game could have been with him as our general. Get well soon gamer. It's a long year, and we have a lot to prove.

A few people looked at me crooked when I used my screen name. I laughed. :)

VT has to compete in-state with another power 5 institution (and one with larger and deeper financial and political resources).

Wait is this serious

That's like the lifeblood of college football

Alabama/Auburn
Mississippi St/Ole Miss
UGa/GA Tech
Florida/FSU/Miami/UCF/USF
Tennessee/Vanderbilt
UNC/Wake Forest/NC State/Duke/ECU
Penn St/Pitt
Kentucky/Louisville (Basketball makes it relevant)
Texas/Texas A&M/TCU/Baylor/Houston
USC/UCLA battle for the same city/Stanford
Oregon/Oregon ST
I know there are many more,

who's not on the list, West Virginia and Maryland, and a few others

1) The athletic budget and athletics giving are in the middle of the pack for a power 5 school

TELL ME ABOUT IT....

I've been waiting for Tech to atleast get with it since William and Mary started this in-state pissing match with their $24 million donation for a new stadium upgrade in 2014. Not to mention that Tech had their first million dollar donor a decade before USC cocks did. Mr Lane vs Mrs Brice.

In all seriousness on the money trail. It only gets you so far.

Oklahoma State. Funded by T. Boone Pickens has given $500 million since 2006 to OSU with $265 million going to athletics, with his goal of having a top 10 football program.

Or see Tennessee 2013 The Vols find themselves mired in more than $200 million of debt, the most in the SEC, with reserves of just $1.95 million, the least in the conference.

And of course a few years ago Tech itself did have a previous player donate $1 million to the football program at a halftime of a game in 2010 i think. That was the orginal indoor money and was to be named after said player at the time

Only a few know how excited we were for this and how long we have been talking about it. To have so many of y'all come by the far away Lot 18 was amazing. We met no less than the most amazing people on earth, and injested some of the best solids and liquids that are now known to man. Several of us will be there all season so feel free to come by, and drink some of the thousands of Yuenglings that were left there.

Has anyone crunched the numbers on how many yards came after the injury? I remember at one point they flashed the graphic that said we had 100 yards in the second quarter and they had like 36. I'm thinking like half of those yards might have come after we essentially abandoned the game.

Not an excuse, I'm just saying, I would really like to know the breakdown of when the yardage really piled up.

I think motley has the potential to turn some heads if they just let him play his game, he isn't a drop back qb, he is more dangerous when you let him roll out and take off if nothing is there

Our staff designed our offense on the ability for Brewer to lead a complicated offense, run through progressions, etc. He was the most improved player this spring, and a shining spot in our offense. I think the change you're recommending is a difficult (not impossible though). Regardless, we may not have a choice.

As far as his passing game, he can throw the ball I watched the kid all thru high school, he has a big time arm, he just needs confidence.

This is what concerns me... he almost looked timid out there, afraid to play. I'm not sure if he just had limited practice snaps, didn't know the playbook, was just nervous, or some combination of the above. Something's gotta change though.

Did I say that the offense the last few years was in sync with Bud Foster's scheme (or any D scheme for that matter)?

An offense that has neither big play ability or the ability to sustain drives doesn't work with any defensive scheme.
