I fear too much crowd tradition has been lost on the youngins during our recent down spell.

did we? Or did we see that kendall isn't healthy? Thomas was absolutely quiet outside of the slant on their first drive and that last TD.

WARNING: the following post is saturated with post-loss bitterness. Any comments 24 hours before or after a game should be taken with a truckload of salt.

First: I don't like the piped in music. When I was in school (03-06), people would start chants during those down times (old hokie, let's go, H-O-K-I-E-S, etc). When the music was blaring people just dance or stare around waiting for it to stop. I get that they started the music because fans weren't doing their part, but now it seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy

Second: While I can rationally say the game was over when brewer went down, I'm pretty pissed about that pass interference call on terrell edmunds. To me it looked like Thomas laid out for the ball and Edmunds was turned facing the ball trying to pick it off. It was 3rd and 10, we were down by just 11 and holding them to a FG would have been nice for momentum.

Third: Urban Meyer can go sit on a cactus. What kind of a dick calls timeout on a kickoff with 1:55 left on the clock and you're up by 18 points? Then follows it up by trying to pound it out for another score when the clock would just run down with taking a knee? Dick move, Urban, dick move.

Fourth: IIRC, the MVs aren't allowed to play after a certain point when opposing players are on the field (could be making this up). The ohio band was playing up to the snap when we had the ball. If those a-holes are allowed to do that, I should get to bring my cowbell.

Fifth: Fans need an education. If the play clock is running when we're on defense, you yell. You don't wait til they line up and you don't wait til it's a "big down." If the other team is doing their chant, you drown them the hell out. While OH-IO was going on, I tried to get my section to do old hokie. Blank stares, I kid you not. Everyone was sitting down, listening to bad music on the loudspeakers, and letting the buckeye fans do their thing.

AnOSU has a lot of them, as one of the 11W guys at the tailgate said, "even yourbad fans are better than some of anOSU's good ones"

ESPN showed Brewer on camera in the locker room at halftime, referring to the sandwich hit he took in the first half, saying STTEO, "Well, they're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that to knock me out."

Some OSU trash fan recorded a Vine of him saying that, then cutting to the hit by Washington that took him out, with mocking laughter over the top.

People. *sigh*

I really respect the coaches not putting Lawson in. I think they knew when Brewer went down that the game was over (you could feel the energy in the stadium drop immediately) and had to make a tough decision to take the week to think about how to move forward, instead of giving in to emotions and putting in Lawson to try and win it.

Just wanted to wish you guys the best of luck the rest of the season. It was a hard fought game and your D is for real. I wish Brewer the best for a speedy recover, he sure sparked your O. Let's meet again in the playoffs...

The season is just getting started. We have capable players and coaches who can get it done. Motley, Durkin, and Lawson all will now have to prepare and play as the guy. I have seen far worse QB's at Virginia Tech. This is where we are. Now go with it.

I don't care if we beat Furman 17-6, as long as we actually figure out what the QB situation is going forward. If they still want to give Lawson a redshirt, Durkin and Motley should each get a half. If Lawson is in play, the competition should go over both Purdue and Furman since we SHOULD beat either of them regardless of our QB. But give each QB a half and in the second half of the Furman game, play whoever will be the QB going forward. Right now, my expected win total went from 8 or 9 to 5 or 6 with our current QB situation. I hope it gets cleared up though in the next 2 weeks.

I think that depends on what the other QBs on the roster show from here on out during practice. Doing this in-game against OSU involved too many variables. Making the evaluation over a period of days in controlled settings is far more optimal. If we're still looking tentative against Furman, there's not enough bourbon in the world for me to get through this season.
