Either give up or don't give up. There are a very few teams who can recover from injuries at critical positions and there are even fewer who would have fared any better against THAT team without their starting QB in the second half.

I agree with everything you put except the "no one's to blame". Also, as fern pointed out in the open thread, Safety was a weak spot for us last night. Also, didn't hear a lot from Clark or Riley. I believe Lefty could and SHOULD'VE developed a contingency plan and invested more time in the offseason in the #2 QB. TEs I would say were only 50% last night (Malleck the Mallet great-Hodges pretty much a no-show). The most consistent tailback I saw (excluding a fumble and Rogers) was JCC.

AM looked like he was hesitant and took the wrong gap on several plays. I'm glad French pointed this out too. I felt like there were several times where AM had a chance to make a play and just whiffed.

Scot Loeffler and Bud Foster won the match for 3 out of 4 halves - I was happy for those guys and I think that it points to the fact that we now have a quality coaching staff on all sides of the ball. That's great news for a program that has been very lopsided for a very long time in that regard.

If this program can continue to build on the solid recruiting efforts of the last few years, we'll be in the mix for the ACC title every year and maybe show up at the playoff party a time or two.

As for this year, I just don't know what kinds of tricks we can pull off at QB. It seems we either lack system experience or the ability to be a legitimate passing threat. Not a good problem to have.

Brewer getting injured is a great difficulty going forward. Perhaps the worst possible for the team's outlook this year.

But then I remind myself of Bryan Randall stepping in, Tyrod stepping up, Logan's magical first year. So many years when we thought the season was over. I'm not saying this is going to be one of those years but the best part of our coaching staff is that most of the top brass has faced this particular type of adversity before.

Fortunately, the next 3 games is exactly the kind of warm up we need for the next QB to step up. Get game reps, build confidence and establish some momentum.

It sucks. I wanted to see Brewer and Lefty really show what our new offense can do, but it's football. Time to coach, inspire and motivate young players to win.

Its hard to find much optimism in the game with the Brewer injury the worst part is how good the offense looked before the injury. I'm hoping Motley's problem was OSU's talent level and the enormity of the situation, if not then bring on Durkin or Lawson.

What the fuck is up with JC Coleman wearing a gold watch during the game? I officially am off him getting another snap.

It's his job to wear the watch. Loeffler has the playcall signed in with a time-based encryption scheme. JCC's job is to decrypt the playcall in the huddle, so the other team can't steal the signs. That's why he wears the watch.

Or something like that, I'm sure.

Yeah, this is rough, but I still see positives and hope that he recovers quick enough to light up the ACC.

A super senior Brewer and either a r-Fr or So Lawson depending on how this year shakes out? Yes, please.

Cardale probably shouldn't be allowed to use social media ever. As smart as the kid might be (OSU fans would give him the Nobel prize for making honor roll. Seriously, every fan mentions that he makes honor roll. We get it.), your online presence is a digital representation of yourself. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to grasp the permanence of it.

Anyways he makes himself easy to hate. I wish him the lengthiest of careers in Washington.

Check @raysfangio on Twitter. Looks like that vt maroon Uni Twitter account said something so it should be fresh on the OSU's dude tweets.

What is this BS about Brewer anyway? It's all over my Facebook feed that "he deserved it" I was at the game and didn't catch any social media during the game.

He was kind of grabbing the back of his left leg on that TD when he got burned. I think he might have pulled a muscle. pure speculation
