You're exactly right. Beamer inherited a mess from Dooley with scholarship sanctions to boot. He just needed time to turn it all around. Sounds like a certain five star get after it full juice OC I know.

Absolutely. Thank Dave Braine for Beamerball. In 1992 there were many cries for firing Beamer, but Braine believed something special was brewing and waited it out. No way that happens in today's college football landscape.
To me, it seemed like a couple of the interceptions were misreading coverage and poor footwork. I would expect those to be fixed.
I'm gonna guess that he'll still have ~10 interceptions just because of his occasional inaccuracy, pressure, and aggressiveness throwing deep balls, but they shouldn't be backbreakers like last year.

Beamer started in a bad spot though. We've seen recently what a few subpar recruiting classes can do to you, not being able to have a full class can devastate a program. London's only recruiting deficiency is pitching a program that can't beat the good guys.

Instead of taking a player's money, take their time. Make them clean the locker rooms on a Friday night. Make them wake up early for fitness. I don't understand the thought process that taking money is the best punishment. IMO, this also reinforces the idea that money can be a means of avoiding responsibility. Don't feel like going to class? Have an extra $10? Not something you want to teach our players.
Kam is one of my favorite hokies ever. "I knocked you on your ass though." He just said it so casually, haha.

the more publicity this gets, the greater the perception that players are, in fact, employees.

The more you look into the ACC's deal with ND, the more you feel like the rest of the ACC got shafted. They either will get a NY6 bowl spot or take one of the ACC's top bowls every year. All they have to do is finish ranked higher than at least the 3rd best SEC or B1G team and they get a guaranteed NY6 slot. Say if we are playing them in the Orange Bowl, we have to share our cut of that bowl revenue with the rest of the conference, while they keep their half for themselves. I'm willing to bet all the other conferences have similar bowl revenue sharing systems. So they are the only team getting a disproportionately larger share of bowl revenue. Sooner or later, everyone else in the Power 5 will hopefully figure this out and get sick of their preferential treatment. All it would take is for the playoff committee to rule that you must be a conference champion to be eligible for the playoff.
Granted he did end up owning us in many, many other ways that game. So point still stands.

It blows my mind that Syracuse was once not just a decent football team, but a top 10 football team. They have to be one of the worst FBS teams over the past 5 seasons.
