That's funny! I once tripped and fell down in the New River while retrieving a golf ball. In December, while wading across from the as yet not Pete Dyed golf course to do some duck hunting. To say my teeth chattered the rest of the day would be an understatement. My buddy later found a broken walker at the dump, put camo tape on it and presented it to me the next time we went duck hunting. Some things are hard to live down.

With Ohio State's one game suspension for missing a class/failed drug tests policy and a whole lot of time between the bowl game and the start of the season... I really hope we don't schedule our big games (like you guys) week 1 anymore.

However, those guys deserve the punishment and should not be rewarded with such an amazing experience next monday will be.

Noah did not deserve this. I was so pumped to watch our "Hard Knocks" like show last night and couldn't even bring myself to watch it.
I guess the whole team was gutted, must have been horrible to watch. Hope they can get it together.

Here's an article about our backups if you're bored: Loss of Noah Brown

Bud isn't going to line up and have the same assignments every play and wait for OSU to figure it out. What makes Bud such an effective DC is that he disguises his defenses so well and then takes risks at critical moments to create big plays. I expect him to use his experienced defense to his advantage and mix things up all night, including playing zero coverage at times.

Perhaps, but he did well in year 1 as a starter, as well as his college career (where Baylor isn't known for it's OL prowess). True he had a spread system then, but that doesn't mean you don't need pocket presence and a quick mind!

In the eyes of the public it probably would be worse. It tugs on the heart strings of many issues. Underprivileged kids getting money for their education taken away by a guy that makes millions off of them.

One of these things is not like the others. How'd you go from T45 to maritime?

You mean the pigskin? The leather object filled with a bladder and inflated with air? Doesn't PETA object to football in general because it harms animals to make the ball?

Saying "discontinued" before it's ever even implemented means that the quote was directed to the same make-believe audience the first one shipped off to. Translated through any filter, it simply reads "NO".

For the rest of us it's tongue-in-cheek; knowing we're not actually talking about a real thing and all ;)

I think Whit's word choice was ingenious.

It is at times like these that I am very happy to be the Luddite in the dark. Never twittered a word, never gotten one, never texted anyone, never received one, never been on Facebook, never missed it. My cell phone is a tracphone we only use on the road, probably two or three minutes a month average. If it weren't for email, TKP and water conditions in the Chesapeake Bay, I could toss the laptop and not miss it much. Part of the reason I eschew "social media" is stuff like this and a genuine disapproval of making it easier to for nuts and crackpots and other nefarious idiots to disseminate bullshit and lies and..... Yep, I'm the quintessential old fart in a quickly changing world, but I really don't think I miss out on anything important. As long as my friends still answer my telephone calls, from my land line, I think I'm in touch enough, and I won't be that idiot driving and texting, or even talking on the phone while drivin. And I won't be that idiot walking into traffic or falling in a hole or ignoring those around me while fiddling with my cellphone. As for Bud, as has been pointed out, he is a little "unrefined" and up front honest, and it does sound like he spoke without thinking it through. I feel bad for him, but to think that this will define VT to all potential recruits is maybe giving more legs to the story than it merits.

Crap like this is why it's so hard to repeat - even loaded teams can get hammered by bad luck like this. Really feel for the kid and hope he gets a speedy recovery. Terrible luck, and much sympathy.
