# | Virginia Tech Defensive Media Session: A very newsworthy chat with Bud Foster I have no problem holding them accountable. 6AM belly floppers up and down the field (or insert you personal form of hell) seem to do just fine.
Taking money from college kids who don't get paid, not the way to do it. I think his heart was in the right place but the idea is horrendous.
I kinda think the wild bear is where we direct snap it to Tim Settle and let him go bowling for linebackers.
One way to look at it is the player will be back at practice the next day, back on the field, and (depending on the player) back on award watch lists.
The coach may be out of a job and the team out of an entire season.
I highly doubt that it really effects Bud's chances anywhere down the line. I'm fairly certain other coaches have said and DONE worse things and are still coaching.

I think the media is about the same thing the court system was meant to be: To get the truth made known.
Unfortunately, it seems both have turned to creating the truth more often than not, which is a big difference.
Its been mentioned elsewhere on this site but in light of the news that MTom is the only real proven talent left for OSU, I'm guessing many fans, buckeyes and hokies alike will assume that Fuller will just shadow MTom all night to take his threat off the table. I don't believe this to be true as Facyson should be nearly as good as Fuller in coverage back from injury this year. He has been the subject of much hype this summer and I think it benefits the defensive scheme more to keep the DBs in their assigned roles and just let Facyson or Fuller pick up MTom as normal rather than adjust to where ever Fuller has to trace MTom.
Thanks Andy, this really answered my concerns.
I just read Andy's interview. Answers a lot of questions.
There is a chicken and egg argument to be had about those millions. Let's say a coach fines a player 100 bucks for blatantly being negligent of the players duties. You think that's worse than a coach publicly making a drunken fool of himself?
Thanks to Andy for the timely and full-context interview, it answers my questions. Everyone should take a read over at the blog.
Bitter Blog - Babcock offers clarification
I just think the timing of it and the optics of it and Bud's good intention, he just got out a little bit in front of himself, but I met with him and coach and John Ballein and we're all on the same page and feel like there's closure there. In the whole scheme of things, with everything we've got going on in the media today, especially in Roanoke, I wouldn't say this is a huge deal comparatively, but it's certainly something we wanted to be transparent about and bring closure to. -Whit Babcock
2nd point is true but if rumors/quotes are true looks like Bud might use Tremaine as a MLB/close to the line like he did Kendall vs GT...
Cincinnati's Tommy Tuberville said he will consider withholding some cost of attendance money for off the field shortcomings/violations.β Joe Schad (@schadjoe) August 27, 2015
Seems as though it's not only Bud that was asked about this
Tremaine Edmunds is the PREDATOR

Yes, but how many OSU fans live in VA? I'm sure they have gained some fair weather fans from winning the national title as well.
Marcus....
Reading Whit's entire quote, it seems like the bowl stipend fines will be discontinued, although some have lumped everything together and blown up Twitter.
dont think i didnt notice you in there either.
While working in Cbus I was wearing my VT hat and some ahole got into the elevator with me my partner and our patient and said "I don't have to worry about you shooting up the place do I" I never wanted to hit someone so badly. If I hadn't been wearing my depts uniform I probably would have.
This is a total gut punch. When Urban Meyer talks up a kid as much as he has Noah Brown this off-season, then the kid is the real deal. Parris Campbell and Johnnie Dixon are technically next up on the depth chart, but haven't made an impact yet and Dixon had pretty serious knee issues last year. I think we see more of Torrance Gibson )if he's 100%) than most people think due to his size and speed. Someone needs to stretch the field. We had NO ONE open all last year and this is what makes me nervous. Michael Thomas is an elite talent - but so is Fuller so that's pretty much a wash. I don't think Braxton will be much of an impact this early in the season but we will see. I'm interested in seeing where we Play Curtis Samuel, who might be the best athlete of the bunch.
I remember Nebraska setting up shop there when they came to visit.
The Alumni clubs close to away games will do the same. Last year the VT alumni club set up on OSU's campus and had a lunch/dinner and drinks reception. The cheerleaders and the Hokie Bird came by and they raffled off some signed gear to raise money for the chapters. I still packed a fifth into the event as they were charging bar prices, but my agenda might have been a little different than most.
Hey Andy: I agree with you in this specific instance, but in general, I'd say that the media doesn't understand the role of Media either.
Journalistic integrity gets pushed deeper to the back of the bus in deference to sensationalism at the expense of objectivity, or worse, in spite of easily available facts.
Wear it around Cincinnati and I will chase you around a Lowe's just to get a "Go Hokies" in. Met a nice Hokie in his 50s that way.
I just upvoted this comment because it's extremely true but it makes me very, very sad.
