The comments regarding the health of Marshall and Dadi were good to hear. I have been very concerned about Dadi's hand and whether it was more than a "ding" - hopefully all is well with both he and Marshall.

They take into account win expectation which would inherently include any common factor that goes into that whether it is talent, coaching, luck, etc. Dave's site doesn't really spell out how he compares talent between two teams so it's hard to say whether there really is a negative Frank Beamer effect or not.

I'm a little confused about this. It seems like anOSU has access to the tennis courts and is controlling access to them. Is this a normal practice?

I've never seen (noticed) an opposing team's fans doing this, but I know it's not uncommon for the Washington street tennis courts to be rented out for tailgating.

I guess I've never noticed..I've always tailgated in the Litton Reaves lot and walked to the Stadium approaching from the West so I never pass by the tennis courts.

For those that are worried about the coaches taking away bowl per-diems and whether that is allowed, I have a feeling this isn't an issue since it's likely only applied when they send someone home on a Greyhound bus. When that happens, your trip is shortened and thus you don't get per-diem for the same length of time. So they aren't "taking it away" as much as they are saying "you're no longer on the trip, so you are no longer entitled to per-diem. So you need to pay us back the amount you would have got on the days you missed." You can't get per-diem if you aren't travelling.

Those first 3 guys are walk ons or at least started their career as walk ons. And Michael Thomas obviously is a starter.

are all freshmen or sophmore 4 stars who will be counted on. Hopefully 2 of them can live up to the hype a week from Monday.

Tuition, room, food, massage therapist, nutritionalist, gym, swag, trainer, tutors, and 3600$ petty cash.....I say show up for sport on time with a good attitude. Getting a hell of an opportunity that most of us had to/or are still paying for. The argument that athletes are not getting paid is a farse

I'm fairly certain this is a common practice. I know the William and Mary game last year had the same set up. They were under a tent on the tennis court. It's a nice thing for visitors. They have a home base for the day.

I'm glad that they are "roping this off." I know many of us on both sides would get along just fine, but it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to tailgating for a game as big as this. There will be plenty of smaller OSU tailgates in the trenches, I'm sure.

I walk past those courts every game day, and it seems to always be a hot spot for visiting fans... It may be because that's where all the buses drop off? I've never seen an official tailgate before. Seems kinda uppity to me, with the limited access. I feel like it would be an interesting hang out for Hokie and Buckeye fans.

I will say that Bud's comments were not the best even though he was lead into it but that is the job of the media now. I call it this era of media "The Gotcha" period.

Today everyone takes everything as offensive and media takes that as a way to increase monetary momentum by taking statements out of context on a regular basic just to entice a reaction in a hypersensitive society.

It's easy to judge someone with you only 140 characters of information to go off of. My only advice for Bud is from now on take a page out of Bruce Lee's book.

Unfortunately, I decided to check it out. I wonder how many of the responders bothered to check out the context or even know who Bud Foster is?

I had to restrain myself from signing up just to disagree with the title of the blog post...how many times has Bud Foster been called an "asshole" coach who looks for ways to "screw over" his players?

From some of the comments Big Ben has made since Vick signed, it comes off to me that Ben really does not like Vick being in Pittsburgh. Sounds like this might have been a case where Tomlin really wanted him and Ben did not like the idea at all. Ben remarked that a lot of the players were "in awe" of Vick when he came into the locker room because they grew up idolizing him. Just seems like he is uncomfortable with the implications of Mike Vick backing him up. Will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out.

If this has any effect on Bud's future prospects, I'm seriously disappointed. That means we let the sensationalized media win.

Wonder how much these simulations take into account the coaching? Dave Bartoo's site cfbmatrix.com has his coaching effect and anti-coaching effect ratings. Beamer got the Charlie Weis Anti-Coach Effect of the Year last year for the ACC with a -4 rating. That means we lost 4 games more than we should have to inferior talented teams. The page is here.

However, Bartoo does believe the Hokies have a good shot at winning at least 2 more games this year than last.
