Pretty good chuckle. Liked the alabama loss possibility. But Indiana?? Seriously??? Excluding the fact that Bud's not gonna leave while Beamer is HC, I do recall Bud saying or hinting that if he did leave he wanted to go to a P5 program that wasn't the dregs of their conference. I think he would hold out for a better gig than that if he were serious about leaving. Although the article did have a humoristic (is that a word??) tone to it so I guess we can laugh at it.
I could see this happening, especially if Beamer turns into old Bobby Boy or Paterno and just will not retire. Bud is not getting any younger and if he ever really wants to be a HC (it is entirely possible he wants to be a DC forever because he is so good at it ah la a certain ex Steelers DC) he would be a fool to pass up a FBS head coaching gig. Especially if they give him a few million reasons too go drink Zima and Wine Coolers...

He seems to be flying under the radar lately but he is a very capable back. He makes good cuts and can consistently pick up 3-4 yards when healthy. If he now has that extra burst that will get him to the 2nd level quicker, I can see him putting up 100 yards on just about anybody.
Indiana... The Wake Forest of the Big Ten. Yes, I know they also have Northwestern, but Indiana fits Wake. Same level of football apathy, same stadium design, and they both will do whatever they can to pump out basketball for the sake of football. If you ever wanted to know what a dump Lane could become just take a visit to Memorial Stadium sometime.

I don't think UVA would go for a defensive minded coach such as Bud(yes, yes..i aware the position is for HC). They're pretty sounds defensively, I think they'd go for someone looking to light up scoreboards.

Coaching is a business like any other. You're letting your emotions cloud your thoughts. The VP at Pepsi will go be Pres at Coke if they pay him enough and he can't be Pres at Pepsi, or name your arch rival / competitor. I'm sure UVA would consider it if for no other reason than to swipe him from VT. The possibility can't be dismissed or laughed off out of hand.
