I've never seen or spoken to him in any way outside of yelling at him through my TV. My attachment to him comes from watching him play through stuff that I know for a fact hurts like hell. Prior to 2013, he didn't play with a mean streak. None of our line did. That's why we sucked. But since Grimes came, he embraced the new mentality wholeheartedly from game 1. That coupled with his willingness to play hurt is what earned my respect, and the reason why I think anyone who questions his want-to is simply incorrect. He was undersized and obviously made mistakes, and he's not exactly the manimal that Teller is (few are), but he gave it everything he had the past 2 years.

Reavis not enrolled at VT, appealing student conduct decision For the record, #sources close to the situation in other sites such as TSL and 247 are saying the coaching staff is aware of what's going on and Reavis will not be reinstated after appeal. Supposedly is a fairly open and shut case without much of a defense.
And this is where some of our recruiting misses in recent years really hurt.

Interesting how the post stating that torrian thought he wasn't a good fit got completely ignored. If TG doesn't think he'll work out for us then no loss in my book.

2007 for me...just to have something normal after 4/16 that brought the community together (even as something as unimportant at football) and gave us a brief distraction from the daily hell that a lot of us were going through was needed. I bet if you talk to the coaching staff, they'll tell you that was the most important football season they've ever coached.

2004, was the best. I was a HokieHaven subscriber back then, the constant degrading of BR was nonstop because he wasn't a Vick. It was nice to see he and the team get to the Sugar Bowl. I was a PAT, I don't even know if that is used anymore in forums.

How bad could it new though if we're not talking criminal charges. I figure we're looking at cheating or repeated JRs for on campus drinking.
First off, I am part Native American, more so than the 1/32 Native American that now Senator Elizabeth Warren used in her electoral campaign. This was not criticized by the same media that are lambasting the NFL team. It's patently obvious they are of the same political origin.
NFL teams do not name themselves after the weak of societal history. Do you see any teams called "the peasants", "indentured servants", or since they are saying its a racial issue "slaves". This thinking is inherently flawed. Look there is the, Kanas City Cheifs, the Florida State Seminoles, etc. These promote strength and power. These names are not even remotely associated with negative connotations. Think of it this way, imagine it this way, what if they used your last name as their alias would you feel offended? How about the color of your skin? Please note they asked to be identified as such.
I wish people would stop taking the news media's comments as absolute fact and start to think critically about the situation on their own.

I agree that the 2009 team was very memorable. The specifics of the season weren't since we didn't win the division (i vividly remember the game that made me start hating GT) but that team was super-talented on both sides of the ball (guys like Worilds and Kam on D with RMFW, Wilson, Tyrod, Boykin, Coale, etc on O), and a healthy RMFW was so much fun to watch, like when he dragged the NC State safety 10 yards into the end zone. It probably helped that it was my freshman year so it was the first taste of VT football I got. We certainly had a team that could beat anyone that year - they just couldn't quite get it done against bama and then the GT and UNC debacle later on.
You've clearly got a personal attachment to the guy, and I'm going to respect that and not needle you.
Just know that the rest of us also watched his performance over the 12 years he was in Blacksburg, and our opinions do not come with a lack of evidence.
