Ehhhhh, this isn't meant to shoot down the guys that played on that '10 defense, but that year's defense wasn't the best we've ever had, and with that, it obviously wasn't a national champion caliber defense, i.e. Lyndell Gibson, JGW, Davon Morgan, Drager at end (he was solid at TE though).

I was a police officer in the city of richmond for a few years and I will say this, A great majority of inner city kids do know have a male role model in the lives that are worth a dam. I'm not saying all but it's pretty close. I chased many kids that were all star speed and could have used their athletic talent to get ahead in life but did not have the guidance. Unfortunately this is the society we live in today.

2004 was a special year. That was the first year I started buying alumni season tickets.
2010 was also a great year, that was the year I saw every game except the Miami (in Miami) game.
I honestly don't watch ESPN at all unless a live sporting event is going on that I want to watch. Sportscenter never seems to have positive stories etc.
But I have to wonder how much ESPN is having to tighten their belt because they overpaid for some of these SEC and other contracts.
you're assuming these kids have fathers playing significant roles in their lives...it is entirely possible that this is not the case. I'm not in any way justifying what they did, just simply pointing out that these kids may not have grown up in the same circumstances as you and I
