It's the responsibility of the adult to know if she's lying about her age or not. This was unconsenual sex with a minor through and through in Virginia. That being said the courts can adjust things as appropriate and this involving a minor we will not be able to actually know what happened in the court room.
From what I've heard back when this happened it probably almost went away because she might have admitted to actively deceived him and word on the street she had done this before and even tried with other players these two were just dumb enough not to see it.
I fully believe the outcome of this had more to do with the judge as the enforcement of these underage consent laws don't get uniformly enforced by every judge. One judge might sentence an 18 year old having consensual sex with their 17 year old partner while another might toss it out.

I simply posed the question of how BLATENTLY racist could "redskins" be if so many institutions adopted it as a mascot. Is it ambiguously racist? Maybe. Could the term have actually evolved into a positive term? Maybe. I don't really know. Its a huge grey area, but I think you've grossly oversimplified my previous statements.
I wouldn't say that all of the Ohio State hype in Columbus would make the city "get old" to a non-Buckeye fan, but it would probably annoy you

That season actually got off to a great start. Played #1 Alabama way closer than the score indicated, won like 6 straight, and then lost to Duke and things really hit the fan after that.
Yeah, Tech actually handed a really good WVU team their only loss that year, killed GT, knocked off a tough NC State team, beat a top 15 BC team by 20, and spanked UVA. Unfortunately that excellent season ended with a comeback win against a Louisville team that Tech was clearly better than, and who can forget the stomp?

What?
Yup, 2013.
Due to various reasons, I almost never got to watch a game. I almost always had to listen to them on the radio. The few games I actually got to watch were things like the Fuck You Matt Ryan game and The bowl game against Kansas. I also got to see Hosely get his first 2 INT and declared that by his moves he'd be a standout that year. Won me a beer that year. Good bet.
In order to force the schedule so I could actually see some games, I bought 4 season tickets.
2013 was the first year I could watch the bulk of the games because I was there. Nobody to tailgate with, the first few games were awkward but with skill at a grill and fresh beer to back it up, one makes friends fast. It was a lifestyle change.
Yeah, and just so happens that our "what ifs" and "if onlys" happen to be "if only we hadn't lost to James Madison" and other complete mishaps like that.

I personally lean towards something like the "Washington Lying Politicians," "Washington Corrupt Judges," or something else like that. If the government is going to essentially force you to change your team name, you might as well change it to something that takes a shot at the government.
