The duty free is 4 hours away in Dar Es Salaam, and apparently extremely over priced. Apparently you can find Bourbon for sale in Dar though, so I will have to check next time I go.
The saving grace is that scotch is really cheap here. Like maybe $ 10-15 a bottle. Most expensive bottle I have seen was $30. I mean there's no Lagavulin, or anything, but still.
In TZ that is Konyagi. It is like, a worse version of gin. Apparently drinking a lot of it makes you go blind, or so I have heard.

But on all seriousness FUCK VIRGINIA and their consent laws. They're way to god damned binary. A friend of mine got drug through the court for rape because he had sex with his girlfriend of almost 2 years just after he turned 18 his senior year and her parents found out. Completely consensual on both sides and they only found out because teenagers can't help but talk about it and they admitted to it. It got plead down but it cost them so much god damned money and set him back a few years.
Sigh... I loved that era 2004-2007. There was something about watching those games and you just expected us to score when we were on defense.
2004 was special. Bryan Randall was such a class act and had choked so many close games in earlier seasons. Marcus was nipping at his heels and with his suspension, Randall came out and led with such poise.
That wasn't the greatest Hokie team of all time, but it has a place in my heart with work horse players like Imoh, Humes, James Anderson, and Burchette

The reason that JT is sometimes seen as the starter that VT should least fear comes from the type of QB that VTs defense normally struggles with. Bud Foster's strategy is usually to 1. Take away the run & 2. Take away easy high percentage throws forcing the offense to try and complete low percentage throws down the field. The times that VTs defense typically struggles are usually one of two situations: First against elete QBs that eventually become NFL starters because they're able to complete those low percentage passes, which plays to Jones' strengths. The other is elusive QBs who are able to break contain and get around or through the pass rush, this plays towards Miller's strengths. I would say that Jones is the QB that I'd least like VT to face because he makes it harder for us to play the safeties downhill against the run.

A lot of people here are trying to act like saints but how many times in college did any of you meet a girl and then ask for her i.d. before having sex. I am willing to bet never. I agree that it is against the law and shouldn't happen but people make mistakes. His life shouldn't be ruined because of it.

Also, I first started following the Hokies...wait for it...the 1999 Boston College game. Then I went to boot camp in 2000, was in Naval Nuclear Power training for 2001, and first ship in 2002. 2004 was the first year I remember actually paying full attention to the team, and it was a good year.

Let me make the point that what Shai did is wrong in every sense. There is no right or excuse. However, I think what you see in both the school's and court's decisions is that while wrong there are extenuating circumstances that mitigate that wrong from being a VERY WRONG to just a wrong. Shades of extremely dark gray perhaps but having been a part of several court cases that involve worse situations let me say there are a lot of issues that come up in them that make a wrong less grevious, yet still wrong.
In Shai's case, I will trust the school and court that what they decided is correct, and based on that I see no reason why he shouldn't be given a second chance, albeit on an extremely thin rope.
Yeah, I'm not blaming the defense for it, they shouldn't have been in the position in the first place. I'm just saying that those breakdowns came at the most inoppurtune times for us multiple times during last season.

I'm a VT fan with a big opinion on this topic, but so many people can't keep their heads on straight for this conversation. Too much pride and team loyalty for a truly honest debate. I'm tired of hearing about it.
The 2009 season is the one I look back at most fondly of my undergrad years. Yeah the loss to bama sucked, and we didn't win the ACC, but there were so many highlights. Miami rain game. Hail Mary to Danny Coale against Nebraska. Curb stomping Tennessee in the chik-fil-a bowl. I loved that season
