Any ideas of where Chris Mangus and Joel Caleb figure into this mess?
It would be great if it were true, but I put Cline atop the depth chart simply because I have seen him succeed on the field, and Malleck hasn't had his chances yet. If he proves himself then he very well could be first string by game three or so.

ummm... they trying to give kids something to do that will provide fun, valuable experiences for them
no different that a track guy that you get to help your kid get faster
your kid can still play football... was talking to a guy at a track guys place this week... offers to Rutgers, Md, hoping for Oregon.... you can't ban this guy from getting lessons on how to run better from a top guy in the area
now they have a track team... sponsorship of a track team is a gray area... but you still can't ban fundraisers, track team sponsorship opportunities, etc.... we do these all the time... we raise funds and the funds are available to buy down kids fees who are less advantaged.... if they are not used they they go into an overall fund that buys down everyone's fees pro rata

there may be sponsorship opportunities that football teams use in pee wee football... are they gray area violations as well? Soandso Insurance sponsors a kids football team, maybe his kids football team, maybe he is a UVA grad. fundraisers, etc.,etc. .... where do you draw the line?
the NCAA is not God... trying to act like you're going to give the NCAA powers of everything... you people realize this is not Russia? Get the message and give it to old man Beamer, better yet maybe his son understands and maybe he can convince the old man.
I'm definitely not writing him off just yet, especially after what Loeffler said during the signing day special. Any time the QB coach says a kid can throw it better than people think, it makes you listen up a bit more. That said, I'd say it's probably about 70/30 he ends up somewhere else. Like Lefty said, if he's not a QB, he's gonna play somewhere. Kid's a talent, no doubt.
True Story. I made that comment as well during the season only to learn that he has a chronic disease the prevents him from gaining weight.
Travon McMillan in my view is the best QB coming in. Great quarterback frame and has a big arm. Take a look at this kid. He's the real deal
Durkin is a QB all the way. Plus if he moves to TE, the jokes will never stop.
I agree. I watched Travon McMillian's highlights and fell in love. The kid has guts and loves throwing the deep ball. He looks very confident in his drop back also and delivers the ball beautifully. Great quarterback frame also. I've watched highlights of all the QBs but Travon really stood out to me. People really need to see this kids reel
In years past, the whip has been on the field more. The lack of playmakers at whip over the past four years has limited Bud in what he can do with that position. Cody Grimm and Cam Martin were always on the field though.

I don't know why the North/South idea keeps getting proposed, when we know it's just a crapstorm waiting to happen.
VT, BC, and Pitt would be mad because they would be right back where they were in 2003. UVA would be mad because you just forced them to move to the Big East. Louisville, being from Big East 2.0, probably wouldn't care and just be damn glad to be there. Syracuse, I'm not sure because I feel like they made the move for money and basketball, so they probably don't care.
The only good parts of our old Big East schedule were annual games against West Virginia and Miami.

We shouldn't ever jump to conclusions, but this is something worth looking into, if for no other reason but the serious potential for abuse. If it's not happening now, it will at some point.

RB: Marshawn, Edmunds (i heard his break was actually really bad, something that will take a lot to recover from)
WR: Stanford, Ford, Phillips, Byrn
TE: Cline, Mallek
FB: Rodgers, Rodgers
OL: No clue with a new OL coach evaluating them
Are the player interviews up anywhere or were they just broadcast and never archived anywhere?

I think Pitt-Syracuse has as much meaning as VT-BC. As in, we don't care, let's stop playing them.
Also...I wasn't going to say anything, but then I saw it twice...you mean "lose" and "losing". These aren't teeth, so they're not "loose". Sorry, that mistake is a pet peeve of mine that I see get made far too often online and at work.

It just doesn't have any legal authority here. Ask your most informed pal with all the connections who believes NCAA will fix this. Drill down on the argument. It all falls apart.
A parent hires a coach for his kid who wants to play in 7v7 tournaments. Why should the NCAA be able to regulate this act?
Only hope if for a market based solution, but regulators like the NCAA aren't good at these usually because it upsets the status quo.
Only hope I buy is that you're going to see a concerted effort of the equipment companies and NCAA member institutions to host more 7v7 tournaments and as a condition of playing in them, the participants agree to abide by NCAA bylaws guidelines, etc. But... from what I understand this would be a very big change in mindset and would potentially upset some precedents, etc.... so it has to get worked out ... there is no guarantee that it can be worked out the NCAA might not be able to get its head around a set of guidelines that embrace the 7v7 game in a way that doesn't upset their guidelines for high schools etc.

Oh I absolutely agree. I would consider Leal better than Noel.
We're all just realistically making stuff up at this point haha. But the spring game is going to be more interesting and entertaining than like half the games on the actual schedule.
I have been going back and forth on this. I could see it happening going into the future because of the different skillsets they have. It would be way too much to integrate that into their freshman seasons though. The two QB thing can work as long as it is developed as a wrinkle and not a situation that challenges the starting QBs role as the man. As in the way Duke does it like you said.

Totally and completely different types of players. And, an absolutely unfair comparison. Leal has always been a player with a terrific arm, so-so vision, and a little bit of mobility but hardly a weapon as a runner. I will be the first to say that he was poor in the Sun Bowl (and, I will go father and say that he should have been prepared to play.) His upside is limited. But, to expect him to go in and be a dynamic big play threat at the quarterback position was totally unfair. Mark Leal was barely a 3-star recruit who was under the radar coming out of Florida. Taylor was regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. They were ranked that way for a reason.
