You're the one basing your argument on the conjecture of what people think might happen in future court rulings based on whatever a Google search turns up. I'm basing my opinion based on the existing rules, which says you can't tweet at recruits as fan.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of law is that rules are legally binding up to the point they are actually challenged. At that point, it is up to a Judge and/or Jury. So conjecture on what may happen if a penalty is applied to actions by persons not under contract with the NCAA or the University being penalized can only be based on how the courts have tended to rule in similar circumstances.

And case law in contextually similar trials have made a nod 1st and 4th amendment protections.

I'm probably not at all right in this, but I would guess that is because if the courts sided with an abridgment of those rights, they might be interpreted as providing state enforcement to things that are clearly beyond their power.

Are you making the contention that since there is no specific 1st Amendment case law in regards to the NCAA giving penalties to non-NCAA or University contracted individuals, that there is therefore no case to be made?

The biggest thing to take away from this is the fact that Searles has Texas connections and kids are apparently starting to consider Tech.

A Virginia, Florida, New Jersey, and Texas pipeline would be huge.

Oh, and Derek Brown is a class of 2015 recruit and is the #5 ranked DT in the state of Texas.

Is there some way to get the Hokie Reps by region to contact the Alumni Association group for the same area to get their message out? I know the Alumni Association gets a better idea of where people are going because of info they collect at graduation.

Kyle Boller remains the only football player I've ever seen who, surrounded by green grass and scrambling down a wide open field with no one around him for 15 yards, could fumble the ball without even being touched, then kick it away from him.

Mark Sanchez is trying hard to match that though.

The one pretty big red flag I'm seeing is his size. Definitely seems undersized for a BCS-level safety. He's got a 4.5 second 40 time listed, which isn't elite or overly slow, so without looking at him play I can only assume his size is holding him back.

Ravens need to either come to their senses about Flacco or let Tyrod go somewhere with a chance to win the starting job.

Call me biased, call me a homer, but Flacco gives the Ravens the best chance to win end of story. I feel comfortable in saying that multiple teams who have QB problems year in and year out would LOVE to have Joe Flacco as their quarterback. I remember where we were before Flacco, the Kyle Boller years are still too fresh in my mind.
