Loeffler isn't going to pull any punches this year. He will use the pieces he has to give the team a chance to win. I am not discounting Ford at all I just think Durkin may have some tools in his toolbox thatcan be utilized in certain situations i.e. red Zone opportunities. I am basing that off of the style of each from the limited film on durkin and more extensive film on Ford. If you want to talk traditional, we were traditionally a 10 win team for almost decade. Changes have been made to get us back there.

That's incorrect but you are welcome to you're opinion. I never actually stated that folks panning him on here (and other sites/forums) was worse than his actions. I never even stated that he doesn't deserve it. I do however believe it is almost or equal to as wrong as what he did. That is my opinion. Proceed to downvote and pan me as you will. Those are my feelings and opinions on it. I don't feel it is very Beameresque (classy) for Hokies (or people in that matter) to shit all over the dude. I doubt very much that Beamer (the ultimate Hokie) would approve of it. That is, at least, the vibe I got from him at the end of '05-'06. Do his thoughts have any bearing regarding this?

Having Tyrod as a legitimate duel threat helped these yards, along with an experienced line, NFL level talent at the RB spot, NFL talent at the WR spots (so you can't play man-to-man without risks).
I think this is a chicken/egg situation. We were running and winning, or we were winning and running (because Beamer hates to run up the score and would rather kill the clock when up by anything over 10 points).
There was a time when the backs had to know the blocking assignments and were required to follow the blocks come hell or high water and not take liberties. This helped to develop trust between the line and the back and also exposed who was not doing their job creating accountability. With this young stable I think we need to go back to that style of coaching to help their development.
Or the slow developing run play where the RB or WR comes from the slot and runs parrallel to the line for half the field only to cut up late for 2 yards. Its not fooling anyone.
It is still a nice Pac-12 gig in the heart of Sothern California. They will be fine.
I credit Shane on that one. Every time I see him in practice, he's holding a punching glove at the end of a stick. He must have really ingrained protecting the ball into the backs heads.

I get your point...I don't openly root against every ACC team in OOC games. But let's face it, besides FSU the ACC hasn't given us much to root for. Maybe I'm just fed up with the conference..I'm tired of losing. I don't want to root for teams just because they're in our conference...especially if I don't think they're going to win. If the ACC was undoubtedly in the top 2 or 3 conferences in public opinion I would probably have more conference pride. At this point, however, that is not the case and I really only care about what VT does. All of that being said, I will NEVER root for LOLUVA for any reason whatsoever...as much hatred as I have for the SEC (mostly due to espn hype than anything else) I would still root for any team from the SEC over LOLUVA. I would even go so far as to root for OSU or ND over LOLUVA.
If the ACC was, without argument, the greatest conference in college football, I would gladly root for any ACC team against OOC opponents EXCEPT LOLUVA. I will never root for them..EVER
Ford is enrolled for January. I think that might be better than an LOI.
