See Miami Dolphins
He may be a true running back, but I'd like to see him level someone again.
But preferably not after a turnover
With all the injuries UGA had this year, they were seemingly destined to have a disappointing season. Too bad, I say. They could have been great. I agree with you that Murray will probably make the best pro. I don't know where he is on the various draft boards, but I'd trade RG3 for the pick that gets him.
I agree that character is much more important but, the bar has been lowered to the point that as long as a player is eligible for a vote , the votes will go to the best player on the field. (At least they have been getting that right IMO.)
GO HOKIES
I once got a high five if that counts
FCS teams in September AND November.
Well, the old contract definitely doesn't stand, unless we're going to institute claiming off waivers into football...
For a fanbase focused only on winning a NC, all they will see (despite his Texas past) is Muschamp coming off of the worst season UF has had since 1979 and a loss to an FCS team. We can debate all we want about injuries and such, but there were many instances where that team was just inept, although their defense was pretty stout.
My question would be, would that old contract between Texas and Muschamp be honored, back when it was stated he would be the HC-in-waiting when he was the D-Coordinator at Texas, or has that since been voided since Muschamp jumped ship to the Swamp? That could be an interesting turn of events to watch.
Fair enough, but in terms of the Heisman, character is really only a disqualifying factor, not one that adds points. The award goes to the best football player of the year who is also not a criminal. If we're voting on character for the award, Williams would also rank very highly. Everything I hear about him is positive.
Edmunds is a true RB. I think we will get straight on Mke LB but it will be 2016 before we are truly solid in the 2 deep. I feel like there is too much politics in the playing of our RBs. The play calling vs the results on the field prove there is some kind of weird dynamic in play. Just like the lack of running the power I when we had the talent in the backfield to do it. I was so frustrated with the abandonment of that formation for the useless illiterate (read) option.
Dec 19th, 2016.... The year Beamers contract expires....
I know for a fact OS has been pushing their kids toward UVA since Greg Boone 'never worked out' at QB for the Hokies. Their athletic director has not been shy about Hokie-bashing, and thinks the world about LOLUVA.
Sad but true.
True, but even with what we know about the candidates I'd say AJ has more character than either Winston or Manziel.
I felt like we were more physical this year than last year. Hopefully, we will carry that over into next year. If we can get any semblance of a inning game going I think our WRs will compete well against the Buckeye Secondary.
I think that depends on whether you believe speculation or what is actually proven. I am very conflicted about Winston's off-the-field antics, but for the most part, it sounds like he's a typical college kid. He's done some stupid things, but the question is (1) whether they were illegal and (2) whether what he's doing is any different than other college kids and other Heisman candidates. Heck, there is video evidence of Manziel doing something against NCAA rules and he could have been ineligible this year (or at least part of it) and yet he was up for Heisman consideration before the season even started. The Winston situation was an ever-changing story, overhyped by the media, and it sounds like several people did idiotic things on the night in question. Whether or not it was truly illegal is something we will never know, but in our system of laws and our Constitution, he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
I agree that the Heisman voters should consider character, but they should only do so in terms of what is proven, not what is speculated and circulated on Internet message boards.
Is it just me or does Jameis Winston not know how to talk, I have a really hard time understanding what he's trying to say half the time
i've been saying all year that murray was the most underated player in the country. he may well make the best pro in this class. i was telling my wife those things right when the miracle at auburn happened. and georgia still almost won that game again, people forget that.
Ever notice how resign and resign are spelled the same? Mack Brown resigned from Texas and Nick Saban resigned with Alabama.
I'm down. My counterspell deck will dominate.
The Heisman was supposed to consider character...
But the voters don't care about that anymore.
I think that Williams should have been second. What he did this year was incredible IMO. Without him BC wouldn't of made a bowl game or even come close. He is gonna be a solid NFL player.
I think AJ is and will be a great QB. He's always had very good numbers, but I think his best trait has always been consistency. Every game you know you're going to get very good, but maybe not great, QB play from him. Any coach would take that. But the Heisman is all about flash, and being very good every game year after year isn't as flashy as coming in out of nowhere and taking over games.
So is Bobby Petrino available? Jim Tressel's show-cause doesn't end until Dec 19th, 2016.

The wife met Darryl Tapp (and his girlfriend) in an elevator in Squires. All she could manage was, "Me and my mom love you."
