Frankly, a damn long time. A partner skipped out on me to work on our final project together. I started while I was waiting.
The lack of Tyrod Taylor in the QB/passing category speaks to our "evolving" (or reacting?) offensive style over the years. We think of TT in such high regard, and rightfully so, but so much time was split with SG, and on QB scrambles, and handing off to RW & DW (see the first category). LT is one of the few full time QB's we've had over the last 10-15 years (with respect to splitting time or moving on early), and has been forced/asked to throw it around a lot more.

Tommy Bowden's name came up. Since Harrisonburg news is my local broadcast, I'm quite eager to have Tommy Bowden on the local sports clips every night. It would make my life much better.

The school would be better off ditching the football and basketball programs and devoting itself to the so-called second-tier sports like soccer and tennis. As an alumna, I'm disgusted by the squandering of resources on football and basketball (especially the salaries of coaching personnel), the hideous architecture it's given rise to, and the strain on the town caused by game-day traffic and drunken tourists who didn't even go to UVA, all while academic programs go begging. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. I say it's time to stop the insanity.

Thought that Stiney was in the lead for the job since he was JMU grad. Also heard that alot of out of towners r also interested.
Please don't take this as offensive, but I don't see this as a useful exercise. Any response will be pure conjecture and is completely unfair to Coach Stinespring, regardless. By all accounts, he is a great guy. Let's not question his character in a subjective, hypothetical manner.

I just wonder how long Baylor and aTm can sustain their success. Johnny Football will be gone after this year, and while I know nothing about who they have in waiting, I still think UT is the biggest player in much of Texas as far as recruiting goes. Baylor is Baylor, they have had recent success, but can they keep it going? While I personally love Waco, it's probably not the most attractive place for recruits (although they are getting a new stadium).
The new AD is the X Factor though. If he feels he can make a splash by hiring Saban, he'd probably be crazy to pass that up.
Agree though that it's going to be a messy divorce.
I'm not bashing CBS, but here's a hypothetical since a lot of us seem to think he would make a better head coach: Would Head Coach Bryan Stinespring have fired/demoted himself from the OC position sooner than CFB?

I think this is a good move on his part to gain some head coaching experience before he takes over at Tech when Frank retires. Obviously this path would be easier if Weaver was going to remain AD, but I'm sure Frank will use his leverage with the new AD to see that this happens.
I can't wait to hear JMU fans talk about how they "stole" Shane from us, only to realize in a few years he was simply being groomed at the smaller school to take over in the big leagues.
What about the fans that want to go to a bowl game? Closer by?
